Hilltop House Bed & Breakfast

The Hilltop House was the perfect location for our motorcycle trip to catch the Fall leaf-peeping season. Our room was charming and bright. Our host Sandy's breakfast offerings were awesome, especially the blueberry/rasberry pancakes with a hint of lemon zest! Would not hesitate to stay again. Marilyn and Jeff

Two retired couples for a three night stay. Easy parking on the grounds. Comfortable common areas and large welcoming wraparound porch add up to homey feel. Breakfasts tasty and adequate in amount, though we found that a 9:00 start created a short day, in particularly with earlier autumn sunsets. Full bookings, but no issue with sound from neighboring rooms and guests. Sandy is quite helpful with suggestions, and very patiently answers questions about a wide range of topics. Location provides reasonable access to multiple sites and dining options. Mattress comfortable, but pillows at the end of their useful life. Costs consistent with the area.

Fabulous accommodations and location. Spent the weekend while attending a wedding at Troutbeck. Sandy was a great host and provided an amazing breakfast. Also gave us tips of where to go in the area for dinner, antiquing, hiking, etc. Would definitely go back if ever in the area again.

Hilltop House is lovely BnB and made even more engaging by the proprietor Sandy. We had a wonderful room with charming appointments. Hilltop doesn't scrimp on the amenities either. Every night we were tucked into butter soft sheets and the high end towels and bathrobes are the luxury you want when you stay in a place like this. We had an unscheduled day on our hands and Sandy gave us marvelous options and with those, our day was filled in the Hudson Valley area. We also hiked the AT in both Conn and NY as Hilltop House is within 20 minutes of point of entry. When we had no dinner reservations she made one for us at one of the best in the area. Our stay was marvelous and give it an easy 5 star rating.

My husband and I enjoyed our first delightful visit to Amenia for an Autumn bike trip getaway. Upon arriving at Hilltop House we were warmly greeted by Sandy the Innkeeper. She and West made us feel at home during our entire 3-day stay and she gave special attention to my husband's diabetic needs. All of Sandy's wholesome breakfasts are made with local grown food. We especially loved her quiche and delicious blueberry & raspberry pancakes. Hilltop House was built in 1909 and is beautifully maintained. It's in an ideal location if you enjoy any outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, walking, etc. Amenia and the surrounding areas offer gorgeous views of rolling hills and farms. Though we did not see peak foilage during early October, the views were still amazing! If you are a biker you will love the 22-mile Harlem Valley Rail Trail for its sheer beauty and flat paved surface. We also took a side trip to the must-see Bash Bish Falls in Massachusetts, about a 30 minute drive from the Inn. The restaurants in the area are very good. We enjoyed dining at Charlotte's in Millbrook, Four Brothers Pizza in Amenia and the Amenia Steakhouse. Overall our Autumn getaway was wonderful thanks to great recreation areas, very nice accommodations, good restaurants and Sandy's gracious hospitality. We look very forward to our next visit to Hilltop House. Maybe next time... we will plan a Spring getaway!

The place is charming and Sandy the host was accommodating and provided great service and fabulous food. I will stay there again! The room I stated in "The Cottage" is very comfortable, clean, and linens were awesome.
