We had a very enjoyable stay at the Hotel Val . (early MAY 2024 ).. Our room was located in one of the adjacent blocks to the main hotel block .The entrance door to the room was via an open walkway, The room itself was a bit on the small side , and had two single beds pushed together . They were very comfy and the room was clean with a large amount of storage /wardrobe space . We had to unplug the bedside lamps to charge phones etc, only one spare socket under the dressing table unit (maybe for a fridge in the past ) . The bathroom had a 1970 style corner shower cubical (approx 750mm x 750mm ) but again the bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water from the heater located above the toilet.. The balcony /patio area at the rear of the room was large and was shared by the other 5/6 rooms on your level .. This would be great if you had friends or family on holiday with you and had smaller children. These blocks have 3 levels and may not be clear on some sites , Garden rooms at the bottom with small balconies/areas and some surrounded with plants ,shrubs trees , Second level with shared patio area as pre mentioned and third level with small balcony , with access again with open walkways . The Food was a bit limited especial the salad bar, there was plenty of meat, pork beef ,lamb , fish based dishes (vegetarians may find it a bit difficult ). There was always something you could find to make a meal up,, deserts were good so my wife tells me but during our week we never had ice cream once. Staff in the bar and restaurant especial Andrea, Marieanne, and the Indonesian waitress ( who always had a happy smile ). Did not use the entertainments in the day time ,only at night ,they seemed to put a real lot of effort into entertaining all guest , Polish, Dutch, British ,French , and German etc . It could be difficult if you have mobility walking problems lots of irregular size steps some very high including the pool . Easy flat walk into Trogir through the old village of Seget Donji and the very impressive marina with the "super boats" ,BUT this year 2024 there are extensive civil works on pavements and roadway into the town , but when passed these , lovely market stalls ,and waterways ,old fortress. Recommend crossing over the the island via the bridge and the old town . Trogir has a main bus terminal where you can get busses to Split (and airport ) in the south and up to Zadar in the north . Most of the photos on various sites seem to be outdated ,especial the "manicured " gardens and have got much more growth then represented. Access into the sea can be a bit difficult and there are no swimming pool type steps as shown on some sites. There is a sloping area but this is VERY slippy (could be difficult for small children) Found it was easier to walk up the path a little bit and you can get in the sea much easier . Recommend getting some "sea shoes "as quite stony , not just here but other parts of Croatia We had a very enjoyab
