This was simply the most beautiful hotel I've stayed in! We booked here for our company's Christmas get together. As we mostly work remotely around Wales, England & even Spain, we wanted a hotel somewhere equidistant & lovely. What an absolute find! The 10 of us were the only guests in this 13 room Manor house in the beautiful area of Dolgellau. The scrumptious decor, the beautifully appointed bedrooms with roll top baths, large comfortable beds & pillows drapped in luxurious fabrics, the large lounge with a wood burning stove, surrounded by big squashy sofas....all made for a wonderful, homely experience. To top this was the exquisite food! It was like dining at a Michelin star restaurant: locally sourced quail, venison, lamb, trout & delicious desserts. Breakfast was equally enjoyable with a range of cooked or cold options. All this was enhanced by super attentive staff. Enormous thanks to Louise & her team for a truly memorable experience. We'll be back!! Diolch.

We went for dinner and loved it again. The service and ambience is great. The al la carte menu and little extras were very tasty, my taste buds are still tingling. We will be back.

We recently stayed for 3 nights in one of the Deluxe rooms (Derwen). From the moment we arrived it was a pleasure. Check in was easy (and our bags were brought to our first floor room). The hotel was spectacular - clean, with character and attention to detail. Staff were very helpful with local suggestions. Breakfast was pleasant with full service selections. We had two dinners in the restaurant (which was superb and reviewed separately). The room was designed and decorated in a luxury country style - plenty of light, and well designed bathroom. While this wasn’t the time of year to enjoy the gardens, the grounds were well kept and a really spectacular setting. We would love to return!

Booked a 3 night Easter break and had a most enjoyable time. The staff are very friendly and the food is exceptional. Very impressed on the first morning when we were given handouts which showed the walk along the trail, map of Barmouth and bus timetable for the return to Dolgellau, so some very nice touches. Superior room extremely comfortable although we didn’t have the requested room made on the booking which meant walk in shower as opposed to the room requested which had a bath. Certainly like to visit again as the hotel is so perfectly located for exploring the coast and Snowdonia National Park.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable 2-night stay including dinner both nights. Food is exceptional, all round great service with friendly staff, hotel has interesting historic wooden panelling and the main restaurant is in a delightful glasshouse overlooking pretty gardens.

Amazing hotel and staff, and the surrounding scenery is just mesmerising. The lounge with its comfy sofas and smouldering fire was such a lovely place to spend the evening after a good walk and day out exploring. The perfect escape. We’ll definitely be back.

This is the second time we’ve visited this fabulous property and it is practically perfect in every way. We stayed in one of the refurbished top floor rooms and we could not fault it - wonderfully comfortable and relaxing with amazing views of the spectacular scenery. The food was equally as memorable- Tom Home’s tasting menu is a must try and his breakfasts as equally tasty. From the moment we checked in to the time we (sadly) checked out we experienced warm, professional and friendly service - We will return as soon as we can.

Hidden from everything with views to die for. This is a gem of a place. The rooms are quite fabulous as is the exquisite food. Spacious and authentic. A proper 5 star place nestled in manicured gardens leading to wild countryside, yet close to many wonderful attractions should you want to leave the grounds. It’s a tough decision. Fab!
