Frangipani Cottages

The place is located in a great location. You have access to the shopping centre and the beach within a few minutes of walking. The have a very nice pool which is shared by all the tenants. During our stay we had issues with the toilet being broken the whole time so flushing was done the old fashioned way. The rooms were very stuffy because ventilation is not that good and the mats got wet from taking showers, we had to kill at least 2 massive cockroaches in the bathroom, our room was “Mnazi 1” so keep in mind if you want to book the same one the staff start doing the laundry with loud machines from as early as 6:30am (you cannot sleep through the noise even if you’re tired as the noise is right on the side of the bedroom), Diani being a hot town the host charges for AC usage they however give you a standing fan that does not really cool the room down if you’re used to sleeping in cool rooms. My friends and I also found the girlfriend/wife to the host to be snobbish if not hostile but Thomas was friendly and very responsive. The nice things about this place is the location, the pool, the gateman and the hedgehog that resides in the property, there are also so many cats in the compound but generally don’t bother guests.

It was definitely the best choice I could make. The cottage was magnificent in an African style( Hibiscus I) , nothing luxurious but practical, a nice big kitchen with everything you need to make a meal ( I actually loved to cook in there) one could feel Africa. The terrace was amazing I could seat every night enjoying a glass of wine and the good weather ( actually I never been using a terrace as often as this one, in 8 nights I went out once ). Some monkeys will give you a visit almost everyday just before sunset, they are nice but remember they will try to grab your food if you forget it outside . Anne the hostess will help you with any information you need, she’s a very kind person living in Africa for many years. The guy that cleans the pool ( don’t remember the name, I think was Alex?) amazing and very helpful and last but not least “Ann the girl “ what a lady, I don’t recall to have someone taking care of a room like she does, even the curtains she changed for washing, kind and always asking if there is anything you need, I give her 5 STARS ⭐️ If you intending to visit Diani don’t hesitate to choose this place, fully recommend
