My wife and I decided to honeymoon in the Maldives at this resort. We were there from 2/13-2/23, and we stayed in the deluxe water villa (room 222). We went with the white platinum plan, and I encourage you to do the same if you stay here as food and drinks are very expensive. If you plan to eat twice a day (breakfast/dinner) and you don’t drink alcohol, maybe half-board would make sense for you, but if you want to eat more than that and have a few drinks - you must go with the WP plan. Our lunch bill would typically be in the $250-$300 range (entree, appetizer, a few drinks). This was included in the WP plan, as were service charges and taxes (26% total). We still tipped on top of this though. The water villa was massive and beautiful, definitely the nicest room I’ve ever stayed in. The mini bar stocked with beers, wines, champagne, and snacks (chips, nuts, etc.) that are part of the WP plan. We ate the mini snickers bar one night and it was $13, so be careful, but everything else was part of the WP plan. Our routine would be to get up relatively early (6am - we’re ************), bike to the fitness center and work out (which is one of the nicest resort fitness centers I’ve seen), bike to breakfast, spend time in the room getting ready for the day, bike to the beach where the house reef is, eat lunch at Meeru, spend time at the pool/beach, and then bike back to the room and spend time in our over water pool before taking a buggy to dinner. The house reef is amazing. We snorkeled with sharks, rays, exotic fish, and even saw a turtle. Some of the most beautiful fish we’ve ever seen, and snorkeling the reef multiple times a day became a staple in our routine. Once out of the water, we’d lounge on the beach loungers and beach service was always close by. All service across the resort was fantastic, however four people stood out the most. Firu was one of them, and he typically handled beach service throughout the day. He knew our room number, names, and our drink of choice within a day. Very personable guy and pretty sarcastic, which my wife and I thought was hilarious. Meeru Beach Bar was our spot for lunch, mainly because it’s next to the beach/house reef. We tried the sunset pool cafe and it was nice, but we didn’t want to head over there each day as it was a bit far from the beach. At the Meeru Beach Bar, Dino and Vikrent took care of us most of the time. Attentive, friendly, and again - knew our names, room number, usual food choices, after a day or two. Very very nice people. Food was high quality and everything was good. The buffet was great for breakfast and dinner. Shahid typically took care of us, and he was one of the nicest people we’ve ever met at any resort. Just an overall friendly person, happy to help with anything, and even set up a nice table for us on our last day. We were very happy with the buffet, especially for breakfast.
