The Detroit Club

What a simply lovely stay! We had a spacious king room on the 4th floor overlooking the street, which was not a hub of activity, as I had expected. The People Mover was a little noisy, but somehow I managed to sleep SO well in the luxuriousness of the room! The front desk staff is PERFECT and exactly as they should be! So warm and inviting, I almost thought I was back in the South! The Spa are was such a true delight! Never anyone there, so the entire bottom floor was a noise for each night of our stay. The lovely breakfast served in the library was simple, but ample and a great way to start the day. We were able to explore every floor- The Cigar Bar- fabulous! the history, architecture, accoutrements- marvelous!! Thanks for an exquisite stay! Visiting Detroit was on my bucket list. Thanks for helping me make wonderfully memories!

What a beautiful and unique place-not your typical "this could be anywhere" corporate property. My husband and I stayed for four nights at this historic, charming hotel. We stayed in a king room that had a separate shower and soaking tub that was so relaxing-the room was very clean (the most important requirement in any stay), spacious, and comfortably appointed. Not only was the room relaxing, but the service was warm and friendly. Every person we interacted with, from the front desk staff, to the bartenders/servers, to the spa/gym staff were so kind: helping us bring up our bags (it's an historic building so the elevator is small), to parking/bringing us our car, explaining the best ways to get around town, and making sure we knew about all the amenities the hotel had to offer- we truly felt welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. Be sure to check out the STUNNING architecture throughout the hotel, especially the vaulted/hand-painted ceiling in the meeting room. Beautiful artwork is scattered throughout all four floors. In the morning, a complementary breakfast of bagels, quiche bites, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, and tea is offered in the Library Bar, as well as a vibrant Happy Hour (with wonderful food options) each afternoon. As we returned from a Tigers game one evening, we got to listen to a live music performance the hotel was hosting. Situated across the street from the (free!) people mover, as well as across the street from a pretty awesome breakfast/lunch restaurant (Que Deli), The Detroit Club is an excellent stay while in the city. Be sure to have a conversation with Bruno each morning (IYKYK) before you explore the city!

It's a very quaint boutique hotel. Lots of History and a very interesting place. Having a Convention at Huntington it is a short walk to get there and the main reason I picked this hotel. Walking back at night around 10-11 p.m. actually never saw possible problematic individuals on the streets. The rooms are very nice with very large bed frames and not your typical hotel beds. My bed was very comfortable with plenty of large pillows of various firmness. The temperature controls were easy to work and kept the room cool like I preferred. The carpeting was very soft and luxurious to the feet much more than the usual hotel fair. Rooms were decorated tastefully with a touch of antiquity but all very modern facilities like the all marble shower and sink area and toilet. Jacuzzi in the room worked but the drain needed to be fixed so the average person could use it. I had to unscrew it and just use the o-ring and top to seal it. I didn't bother reporting it as I made it work. It seemed brand new so maybe needed some adjustments. Mini bar has plenty of drinks at a substantial cost so I avoided using any of them but it was there if you choose. Snacks were also available if you wanted them. The TV was very large and worked perfectly with Samsung TV Plus with a large variety of excellent choices if you have the time/desire to view. I found the Conan O'Brien channel and stuck to it as it played short clips of various guests and bits over the years. I had to use the back of the TV to plug a USB cable into as there were no other USB ports anywhere in the room. Which is one minor complaint. Most travelers nowadays would love some ports for charging their devices and outlets were few and far between in the room. There were no special events during my stay as seen on their instagram page but I am sure if there was it would have been awesome. I did not get to partake of the spa, restaurant or gym since I was in convention all day and events every night I attended. A Continental Breakfast is included with a nice set up in the bar area, bagels were my choice daily. Special mention for the friendliness of the staff. Each person was kind and helpful on various issues I had. With a special thanks to Eva, who welcomed me every afternoon with nice conversations. If I ever return to Detroit this will be my choice as it exceeded my expectations.

From the moment we arrived everything was first class treatment! From checking in with the wonderful woman at the front desk to the gentleman who help us with our bags! The is a hidden gem in Detroit and I highly recommend The Detroit Club!!

Stayed with my wife for one night for a romantic gateway. We booked a couple massage and had a dinner at the Bohemia restaurant at the hotel. The hotel building is a very interesting historical property with many elements preserved from the past: wooden elements of the décor, some paintings, original telephone booths, book shelves etc. We had a room on 4th floor. The room was comfortable, sleep quality was great, everything was clean, just what you expect from this upscale property. Massage was good, visit to the "cove" and infra red sauna was worth it. Dinner was ok, let's say 3.5 stars out of 5. The food quality was good, but not fantastic. I expected something more fancy at that place. Will come back again, it was overall a very nice experience.

Such a lovely, unique and historic property. The staff were all really warm and welcoming. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful hotel, spacious, comfortable room and easy to walk around downtown

I went to Detroit with my husband for a one day family occasion and stayed overnight at the luxurious Detroit Club. The room was quiet, very comfortable and well stocked with snacks and a drinks fridge. The valet service for our car was very easy and discreet. The reception staff members were welcoming, efficient and extremely helpful. I had worried the hotel restaurant was closed on the day we arrived. The reception desk recommended some outstanding restaurants and we enjoyed an excellent meal within a short walk. This is a calm, welcoming and very luxurious boutique hotel. We would definitely stay at the Detroit Club again.
