We stayed at Kingfisher Lodge in Dennis for two night in July. We booked it as a last minute stay during prime travel to Cape Cod. As someone who vacationed to Dennis for 30+ years, I’ve always driven by it but never stayed. Thought we’d give it a try this time since it was available. It is a nice motel and felt the room was very clean. Bathroom looked to be remodeled and was very clean. Linens and towels were also very clean. We had a room with two full sized beds. AC unit was built into the wall and some might characterize it as loud but didn’t bother us. Although nice and clean, it’s important to remember it is still a motel - so don’t expect any extra frills. Communication and check in & out was all via text (which I prefer). They asked that you leave trash and used towels out front of your room for pick up and you can text them to let them know how many towels need replacing. These are left at the door, as I’m assuming they do not enter the rooms. Rooms are assigned a pin at check in which will be your code to the electric door lock. There was no safe in the rooms (at least that I saw). Room had a mini fridge and microwave. There was also a small (maybe 24-30 inch) TV with Direct TV cable. Rooms are small which is fine, but we had no where to sit and eat our food that we heated up in the microwave. Even a small table with 1 chair would’ve been helpful. We ended up taking it outside to one of the patio tables at the pool. Not sure what we would’ve done if it was raining though. The pool is a regular in-ground pool with a shallow and deep end. We enjoyed our time in it. It was always clean and warm water. As previously mentioned, there were 3 patio tables with chairs around the pool as well as some lounge chairs. There was also a grill to use, if interested. We swam after sunset and the pool area was not very well lit in the dark but not totally dark. We had quiet neighbors so noise wasn’t a problem, although I imagine if you had very noisy neighbors it would be disruptive as the walls seemed to be “thin”. The motel is dog friendly and it seemed as if most guests had one in the party in passing. With that said, we do not have a dog and I felt the room cleanliness was great in terms of no traces of animals staying in the room before us (fur/kibble/etc). I would recommend this motel to others looking for a quick Cape getaway and that don’t really need frills or the room for things other than rest, showering, and keeping their things. This place really met my needs for those things. I will definitely consider coming back in the future.
