Amalia Hotel

See photo of honest review in pictures. To rewrite our original comments would not be a true reflection of the holiday . The owner is trying hard to improve the hotel but nothing will change the tiny rooms ,poor room views , small ,very small shower cubicle. I'm only 5'4 and 9 st but couldn't even shave my legs !!!

Just back from a week’s stay at Hotel Amalia. A very enjoyable stay & great value for money. Beds are very comfortable and pillows and mattresses immaculate. Staff are lovely & helpful. The food was very good with plenty of choice and included traditional Greek dishes. The stefado was delicious. Dassia beach is a 15/20 min walk & well worth a visit. We hired 3 loungers & an umbrella for bargain price of €13.50 from Dassia Hotel & Restaurant. Number 7 bus will take you into Corfu Old Town, €2.50 each way. There were a few areas that would benefit the hotel by improving these being the coffee, very bitter. The wine on all inclusive, but I brought a lovely dry rose for €4.20 at Danny’s supermarket opposite. Dinner finishes at 8.30pm and I felt this was too early and would benefit from extending this to finish at 9pm. Tip, plant based milk, especially oat milk is hard to come by, even in coffee shops. I would take a carton & put in the fridge in your room. Thank you Hotel Amalia for an enjoyable stay!

We arrived at the hotel and was given our room which was amazing and the staff were amazing, all holiday everyone we met including the cleaner were polite welcoming and made a huge effort to make sure we were looked after. The hotel was very clean, the pool area was clean the snack bar is amazing and the drinks were brilliant I really can’t fault this hotel at all and I will be returning. Thank you to all the staff there for making us feel at home you are all doing an amazing job!!!!!!!! See you soon hotel amalia xxx

Having read mixed reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect but I returned from this lovely hotel very relaxed and pleased with my choice of holiday destination. Staff were friendly and so helpful. When I had a small cut on my finger the person on reception that day would not hear of me returning to my room to clean and dress it, they took control of this. In the bar staff remained cheerful and helpful, accommodating an extra shot of espresso into a coffee or combining different soft drinks with an alcohol order. Restaurant staff were friendly and competent, making sure plates were cleared promptly and food supplies refreshed. The food choice was superb. At lunch and dinnertime, local and standard meat/fish options were available with copious salads and vegetable dishes so even the most picky of eaters would find something they could enjoy. Puddings were delicious and presented beautifully. The hotel is situated within a ten minute walk of pretty private beaches and the larger Dassia beach within a 15 minute walk. Ipsos is a 45 minute walk or a 5 minute trip on the bus that runs about every 30 minutes. Virtually outside the hotel you can pick up a bus to Corfu town which is about half an hour journey and costs 2.50 euros per person each way. The pictures don't fully reflect how pretty the hotel is and my only concern was that the room servicing needs improvement and as the area has hard water, it causes deposits on the bathroom fittings which makes it look as if it is not clean when it is. Despite this minor point, the hotel represents excellent value for money and is a real find, I would be happy to return there again through Jet2.

Very good stay, booked with Jet2 and went for 5 nights as a couple and everything was lovely. Location is good, very quiet area but can get to old town or ipsos with a short and cheap bus trip. Food always has a decent selection and majority of stuff can be yummy. However, some of the meat can be tough at times. Orange Soda from the restaurant is really nice. Pool open from 10-6 and bar is open from 10am to 11pm. After 11 the bar accepts cash only or they can put it under room charge. Entertainment on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays. Good laugh on a monday. Lovely singing on the other days. Staff are absolutely incredible, from the bar staff, to receptionist to the restaurant staff to the maids, absolutely incredible. Rooms are perfect and for the price being paid they have outdone themselves. Lovely aircon to keep us cool For the pool can be annoying at times trying to get a sun lounger, wouldn't care if there was a grass area to lay on but if you're by the pool hope you get one or you can sit at the bar area but its in the shade. Outside Notes Ipsos beach is worth going, much bigger than the ones closer to the hotel and lots of good food spots by ipsos or outside by the hotel. You can get a bus ticket by card, dont listen to the signs like us. Ran to get cash and had to sprint back in flip flops just to be told we can pay by card Buses can be very warm as expected so brace yourself. Only saw ATMs here got charged €6 to take out €20 so worth exchanging elsewhere. I brought a 1L flask that keeps drinks cold for 12hrs and thats so important to stay hydrated. Lots of places to buy water but given the heat here it'll be too warm within 30 mins

Just returned from a week holiday. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The entertainment on 3 nights ,especially the music on a Wednesday. Variety of food was good but sometimes a little overcooked. For a 3 star hotel they did very well. Enjoyed it..
