Review of Taj Chia Kutir, Darjeeling We stayed at Taj Chia Kutir, Darjeeling, from 15th to 17th February 2025 to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. While the property itself is stunning and the overall stay was pleasant, our experience was significantly marred by poor service coordination, which ruined our special occasion. Service Disappointment Before our arrival, our travel agent coordinated with Mr. Rishi, the F&B Manager, regarding a special anniversary dinner, estimated to cost around ₹25,000. We were advised to connect with him upon arrival, which we did. Mr. Rishi assured us that he would make arrangements and get in touch with us. He even mentioned sharing his contact number, but he never did. Neither did he reach out to us nor did he arrange anything, leading to a complete disappointment. This lack of communication and follow-through showed a serious disregard for guest experience, which is unexpected from a brand like Taj. Other Aspects of the Stay • Property & Ambience: The resort itself is beautiful, offering breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. • Food: The food was average at best, with a limited spread. For a luxury property, we expected a more diverse and high-quality culinary experience. • Service: Apart from the anniversary dinner mishap, the overall service was decent, but not exceptional. Final Verdict Taj Chia Kutir offers a picturesque setting, but the lack of attention to guest requests and poor service coordination left a bitter taste. For a special occasion, we wouldn’t recommend relying on their team for event arrangements. While the stay was comfortable, this service failure overshadowed our experience. If you’re visiting for a casual getaway, you might enjoy it, but if you’re expecting top-notch service for a special occasion, think twice.

My wife and i visited the Taj Chia Kutir for our first wedding anniversary. We had such a warm welcome and stay, with a special anniversary dinner arranged by the Hotel Team. The property is a must visit for people looking for a great peaceful getaway from busy city life. A special mention to Chef Tilak , Mr Rishi and Mr Rohan for making our trip even more special.

Nice property. Very cordial staff. Special mention of Mr Bhaskar at the Front desk who was very helpful. Mr Sarkar the manager of the resort received us and explained everything about the property. Overall a nice place for a few days rest and rejuvenation.

This hotel is located on the side of a steep hill with wonderful views. Rooms are excellent, many with big balconies facing the view. Service was perfect. Restaurant was excellent. Prerna Lama stood out as a really wonderful and attentive person. Nothing was too much trouble. Next time we come we hope to see the views , but January is probably not the best time as it was 6C in the daytime!

We had a lovely and peaceful stay at Taj Chia Kutir and found the staff warm and courteous. The resort has charm and character, while remaining homely and welcoming. The only drawback I could point out us that the food options lack variety. However, the restaurant was charming, with prompt service.
