Suma Aavaas Farmstay

Suma Avaas was the perfect experience for us girls who contemplated if it was a safe place or how would we go there and more. Sangam who is the owner there is the best of the best. Don’t let his humbleness fool you, he is great at being warm and welcoming and his hospitality is top notch! Bharath Bhayya - his jokes, Sujith Bhayya who took us around and most importantly the cook, they are all so warm and welcoming and people should definitely stay here! Sangam being the best at what he does, took us out for a trek around the tea garden. It was one of the toughest things I’ve done but it was also the most rewarding and enjoyable experience. I cannot express how happy and grateful I am to have stayed there and to have experienced such bliss! Thank you Sangam and team for taking care of us! We really appreciate it!

Suma Aavaas Farm Stay is amazing in a stunning location. Extremely friendly, caring and professional owner Mr. Sangam Rai. It is like our new home from home. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is extremely comfortable with stunning views. The Suma Aavaas team Mr. Bharat, Mr. Riten, Mr. Kumar, Ms. Radha and Ms. Devika make our stays memorable. We loved the open kitchen and organic farm grown vegetables for our lunch and dinner. Last day we had a BBQ small party with Suma Aavaas team in open kitchen. It was amazing. We will come back again. You know it is going to be a wonderful vacation when you reach Darjeeling and check in at Suma Aavas Farmstay. The approach road to this lil peace of heaven is the steepest slope of a road that I have ever seen in my life. To top that, it's the most pot-holed narrow road. You definitely need to be an expert driver for this. But, enter the gate, get out of the car and you'll see why the saying, "Good things happen to those who work hard to get there." We were greeted by the owner, Sangam, and he immediately made us at home. What a fantastic host! The wooden cottages were clean and classy. The bathrooms smelled fantastic and we had running hot water at our service whenever we needed it. What took the cake was the view that this property has to offer. Speaking of cake, food. The food here was finger-licking good too. It is not a fancy menu. You will binge on a simple meal of Roti, sabzi, dal, and rice; yummylicious to the core. Shiten and Neha, the people behind the lovely food are locals who work with Sangam and they are as polite and hospitable as one can be. Do notice the softness of the chapati that they serve. All in all, I'd 100% recommend this place. It is a farm stay style living so do not expect Pizzas on the menu. But come here for the peace and calm and get that in abundance. I stayed at Suma Awas with my family, including senior citizens who are diabetic and my son who had fallen sick. Suma team took very good care of us in terms of meals as per the dietary requirement and different schedules. The view was beautiful and staff was proactive in meeting our demands. It's location, warm hospitality are it's key strengths.

Place is good if you go in a group, it has amazing views and hospitality is great. Food is with limited choices but all amazing, the person Sangam is a great ***, helpful and takes good care of you, all staff was good, issue was washrooms, not clean, rooms are also not that great but spacious. Overall good stay.

First and foremost, the location of the farm-stay was absolutely breathtaking. The panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and lush greenery were simply mesmerizing. It truly felt like a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The peaceful atmosphere created a perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. The accommodation itself was comfortable and clean. Our room was well-maintained, and the bed provided a good night's sleep. The rustic charm of the farm-stay added a unique touch to our stay, and we appreciated the efforts made to create a cozy and inviting ambiance. Sangam (Owner) and his staff members were friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. BTW, this is my second visit to the property, yet they were always ready to assist us with any inquiries or requests we had. Sangam bhai also arranged a delicious cake for my wife's birthday in the middle of the night and she wasn't really expecting the cake citing to the property location which was at least 10kms away from the main market. Our experience at Suma Aavaas Farm-stay was truly memorable. The picturesque setting, warm hospitality, and immersion in nature made it an ideal retreat for those seeking respite from the chaos of everyday life. With a few minor improvements, Suma Aavaas has the potential to become an even more exceptional destination. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking to rejuvenate their soul amidst the scenic beauty of Darjeeling.
