XXNYLMy friend and I enjoyed our stay in the 'Yunxi 270° Seaview Terrace Double Bed Room' at Dali.Muxi Inn (大理木兮·半山Villa海景民宿). We found this hotel via reviews on XiaoHongShu and the room looked exactly like the stock photos. The hotel and room were beautiful, the hotel staff were very helpful, and we would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Dali and are looking for a hotel with an amazing view of Dali Erhai lake.
Number of nights of stay: 3 nights
Hotel location: The hotel is situated in a quiet but brightly lit residential/hotel estate at the end of winding uphill road (around the Dreamland/Santorini 圣托里尼大理理想邦 area), and is located about 20 minutes away from Dali Railway Station. The vehicle drop-off point is directly outside the hotel. The restaurants around the hotel close at about 8.30pm-9pm
Room: The 'Yunxi 270° Seaview Terrace Double Bed Room' is the only room located on the fifth floor. There is a lift in the hotel so it was convenient to transport our luggage. The room was perfect - it was really spacious, beautiful and clean. There was one king-sized bed, which was slightly too soft for my liking, but the pillows (one soft and one firmer memory foam pillow for each guest) were comfortable. There was a large living area with a sofa, three coffee tables and two additional chairs; balcony with two comfortable rocking chairs, a coffee table and a stunning view of the Erhai lake. The sky roof, when opened, was pretty in the daytime but it was difficult to see the stars at night due to the light pollution from the nearby buildings. The open concept wardrobe was large enough for us to hang our clothes
Bathroom: Two sinks, separate shower and toilet area, one jacuzzi. Toiletries (e.g. shampoo, conditioner and body soap), disposable toothbrush/toothpaste, rubber bathroom slippers and disposable bedroom slippers were provided. The shower had both a handheld shower head and rain shower, with good water pressure and temperature
Hotel amenities: Complimentary breakfast (from 8.30am-10.30am; delicious spread of noodles with soup, porridge, fried egg, bread and vegetable platter) and afternoon tea (Lotus Biscoff biscuits, yoghurt, fruits and plums); cafe at the reception area is opened during office hours and only sells beverages; beautiful reception area with a friendly and gentle 5-year-old house cat; communal washing machine (free of charge, inclusive of laundry detergent)

JJade 丁玉儿Die Hotelbesitzer sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sie holten uns vom Bahnhof ab und brachten uns wieder zurück, fragten ständig, ob wir etwas bräuchten, begrüßten uns mit kostenlosen Yunnan-Nudeln, die sehr frisch und lecker waren, und schenkten uns vor unserer Abreise noch Pu-Erh-Tee. Das Hotel liegt sehr ruhig und bietet Blick auf den Erhai-See. Man kann in etwa zehn Minuten zum Flussufer laufen.

While there is some ongoing construction in front of the building that slightly affects the view, the surrounding scenery is still beautiful and calming. The cleanliness of the homestay was satisfactory, and it offers a good range of amenities. The kitchen, in particular, is well-equipped, making it a great option for families or groups of friends planning to cook and enjoy meals together. However, if you're simply traveling for leisure and don't plan to spend much time at the homestay, you may find the kitchen unnecessary. One thing to note is that there is no central air conditioning or heating system. The homestay provides a bed warmer (which works well) and a small air-conditioning unit in the living room, but the bedrooms can get quite chilly at night, especially during winter. It's something to consider if you're visiting during colder months. In terms of location, this homestay is ideal if you're looking to unwind in a quiet and restful environment. However, for those planning a busy schedule with visits to Dali's main attractions, the distance might be a drawback. The homestay is located in a residential area, and getting to most tourist spots can take 45-60 minutes by car, whether you're heading to the west or east side of Erhai Lake. There are also no nearby F&B stores except one small restaurant in the building next door so make sure you eat in the city areas before coming back to the inn. That said, if you're staying for a longer duration and prefer a relaxed, free-and-easy itinerary, this could be a suitable choice given its amenities like the kitchen and laundry facilities. It's also worth mentioning that this homestay feels more like an Airbnb than a traditional inn. It's situated in a residential building, with the entrance being a carpark and access through an elevator to a residential unit. There’s no lobby, service counter, or common areas. Instead, check-in and assistance are handled through WeChat. Despite some of the drawbacks, the service here truly stood out. The staff member assisting us was incredibly kind, prompt, and accommodating. Whenever we had questions or faced minor issues, she responded quickly and made every effort to resolve them, which helped make our trip smoother. Her attentiveness and helpfulness were a highlight of our stay and left a positive impression. While this homestay may not have been our favorite, the excellent service and peaceful setting make it a decent choice for travelers prioritizing quiet and self-sufficiency over convenience and luxury.

MM503663****Die Erfahrung bei AnYu war perfekt. Das Hotel befindet sich in der alten Stadt. Taxi/Uber kann direkt vor dem Eingang des Hotels parken, im Gegensatz zu einigen anderen alten Stadthotels müssen von der Hauptstraße, die unglaublich bequem ist, zu Fuß gehen.
Der ”Nanyang-Stil” Dekorstil ist retro und göttlich. Jedes einzelne Stück der Möbel und Dekorartikel ist schön ausgewählt, auch mit dem Feuer-Differenzierbox! Ausgezeichnete Atmosphäre, BOSE Musiksystem ist überall im Gebäude. Dyson Haartrockner, verschiedene Art von Ladekabeln in der besten Seitentafel, jede Einzelheit reflektiert die Bedenklichkeit.
Von exquisitem Nachmittagsthee, Nachtsnack (Bröd von weißem Pilz oder heißem Milch), bis zum „fein essen“ Frühstück, jedes Detail wurde perfekt und alle komplimentar.

GGastnutzerDer Ort ist sehr schön mit einem schönen Blick auf den See Erhai. Wir buchten das Zimmer mit dem privaten Außenbad und es war absolut erstaunlich. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Vor der Ankunft haben sie uns auf der Bahnhofsstation geholt und für uns eine WeChat-Gruppe geschaffen, so dass wir vor, während und sogar nach dem Aufenthalt alle Fragen stellen konnten. Sie haben uns auch dabei geholfen, einen Fahrer zu buchen, um uns zu unserem nächsten Halt in Yunnan zu führen. Das Gebiet befindet sich auf der sogenannten Regenbogenstraße. Es ist ziemlich und schön, aber es gibt auch Restaurants rund um, um schöne Abendessen und Getränke zu genießen. Wir können das Hotel sehr empfehlen, auch für Ausländer.

GGastnutzerWe really enjoyed our stay here! The location is ideal — just a 5–10 minute walk from the ancient town. In our opinion, it’s the perfect distance: close enough to reach easily, yet far enough to avoid the crowds. It also made it much easier for us to request a Didi or taxi, since ride services aren’t available inside the ancient town itself.
The homestay reached out to us a day before our arrival and kindly offered a free pickup from the train station or airport. We sent over our train details, and a car was waiting for us right when we arrived.
The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very modern. The owners and staff were all incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We loved the complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning and the free desserts in the evening. They even provided fresh apples and walnuts for guests to enjoy anytime.
It rained during our visit, and the front desk was happy to lend us umbrellas, which we really appreciated.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Dali!

Von vor vier Jahren bis heute scheint dieser Ort sowohl vertraut als auch unbekannt zu sein. Sie waren sehr rücksichtsvoll und haben die Unterkunftsinformationen aus diesem Jahr beibehalten. Diesmal haben sie eine andere Zimmerkategorie für mich eingerichtet, die sehr warm war. Die Vorräte im Zimmer sind sehr gut. Es gibt Alkoholtupfer im Badezimmer, aber ich habe das Gefühl, dass ich sie direkt mitnehmen möchte. Haha. Das Wichtigste ist, die Feuchtigkeitscreme mitzunehmen, um eine Handcreme herzustellen, sie riecht sehr gut. [Schlagkuss R]
Ich muss das Frühstück und den Nachmittagstee, die unten am Berg serviert werden, wirklich loben, sie sind sehr aufmerksam. Der Butler wird Sie im Voraus über die Uhrzeit und die Kategorie informieren und nicht nur die Zahlen erfinden. Am ersten Tag, als Sie eincheckten, war gerade Nachmittagstee. Der Kaffee war sehr gut und die Kuchen waren nicht minderwertig Bilder📷Schade, dass ich mit anderen Dingen beschäftigt war und den Nachmittagstee verpasst habe. Das nächste Mal möchte ich Kaffee und Nachmittagstee trinken. ☕️ Empfohlenes [Sun R] Frühstück, es ist wirklich reichhaltig und lecker, Freunde müssen aufstehen, hahaha.
Das Personal, das den Berg hinunterfährt, ist sehr freundlich und geduldig, aber es gibt keinen unnötigen Service oder übertriebene Begeisterung. Hier können Sie Ihre Zeit frei und natürlich verbringen. Abends gibt es Gute-Nacht-Milch und Birnensuppe, da bleibt nichts übrig. [Gute Nacht R]
Für Mädchen, die gerne fotografieren, ist es auch sehr aufregend, hier eine Gruppe zu machen, vor allem wegen meiner Arbeit. Ich hoffe, das nächste Mal wiederzukommen und alles zu erleben, zum Beispiel eine Gruppe kleiner Fotos zu machen.

TT.W.LBooked the family room at courtyard level as I had elderly and wanted an accommodation which is easy to access. I also did not want to be hoisting luggages up and down and over cobbled streets in the old town and somewhere along the city wall so it is easy to start our tour of the sights around Dali in the morning.
Room: Simple efficient clean layout with open concept. Rooms are relatively new. Sink area is located outside the bathroom which is good. The beds are hard in my opinion but elder felt the bed was comfortable. Bottled water was provided everyday (left outside our door). Room Temperature control was ok and the hot water for the shower heated up quick and could maintain at a stable level which is a plus unlike some other hotels in Yunnan.
There is flight of 3-4 steps to room which is manageable for our elder as the room is slightly raised above the courtyard. We had an early check-in as the room was ready. The staff helped us move the luggages to our room. You could also book the entire courtyard for larger groups. The owner is building additional new rooms in the annex but the construction happens during the day and it is not noisy as most guests would be out.

It is near the South Gate (there is a local market nearby check the maps or ask the owner) and our local driver could stop right outside our accommodation.
We didn’t get breakfast from the bnb as there were food shops offering noodles, congee and fried dumplings around that open early at 7am. You can also make your way to the local market near the gate. You could also go up the South Gate for free to catch the sunrise or sunset view.
Touring around Dali
If you can comms in Chinese, you could message the owner ahead to assist to arrange for a car transfer from Dali Fengyi Airport or the Dali Railway station to the BnB. It cost RMB50 for us from the Railway station to the BnB. You could also arrange with him for a day driver to take you around the sight seeing places around Dali /Erhai Lake, Mt Cang or a driver to send you to Lijiang. We felt was more efficient and relaxing with an elder. It took ~3h drive instead of travelling south to the Dali train station to ride the train to Lijiang and finding a cab from Lijiang railway to the old Lijiang ancient city.
You could also easily catch a Didi or a cab which could be cheaper. A cab/car ride to the 3 Chong Sen Temple pagodas was about 10rmb for 3-4pax which is comparable to waiting for Bus 4 which cost 3rmb per pax.
