Überraschung liebe ich hier. Nahe der Einkaufsstraße und jetzt haben der Weihnachtsmarkt genossen Shopping während meines Aufenthalts. Wichtiger nahe dem öffentlichen Verkehr 1 bis 3 min Fuß. Viele Restaurants hier setzen leicht Mahlzeiten.

Dieses Hotel befindet sich im neuen Teil der Stadt in einer der Vororte. Es gibt viele kostenlose Parkplätze auf der Straße zusammen mit einem Busstopp für den Bus in die Stadt. Ich bin in einem Rollstuhl und wir könnten in 15 Minuten in den Einkaufsbereich kommen. Die alte Stadt ist etwa 10 Minuten mit einem Taxi oder einen guten Spaziergang auf einem sehr starken Hügel entfernt. Die öffentlichen Zimmer und Schlafzimmer des Hotels sind leicht und luftig. Die Aussicht ist besser als das Blick auf das Hotel! Das Hotel ist sehr leer und das Abendessen wurde in der Bar serviert, aber es war ausgezeichnet. Eines der besten Mahlzeiten, die wir auf diesem Besuch in Spanien hatten. Das Frühstück wird im Speisesaal serviert und das Buffet ist ausgezeichnet mit einer breiten Palette an kalten Fleisch, Käse, Obst und Gemüse. Wenn Sie die Warm-Fütterung bitten wird für Sie gekocht, was viel mehr Speisen als die Standard-Taschen von gekochten Lebensmitteln auf der Seite steigen. Ich denke das Hotel ist mehr von einem Geschäftshotel während der Woche, aber es war großartig für uns. Das einzige ******* war, dass wenn Sie ein Fahrradfahrer sind, es nur ein Bett im großen zugänglichen Zimmer gibt. Dies kann nicht in zwei Einzelbetten aufgeteilt werden. Meine Beine schlagen nachts, so dass meine Frau ein separates Bett braucht, so dass ich wieder ein separates Zimmer für sie reservieren musste. Das Zimmer war gut ausgestattet mit einfachen Zugang zu einem Rollstuhl und einer Schleiftür in das nasse Zimmer, das ist groß. Die Dusche hat sehr begrenzte Griffrails und meine Frau musste mich in die Dusche folgen, um den Stuhl hinter mir zu setzen. In der Dusche gibt es keinen festen Sitz, der eine Schande ist. In einem ganz schönen Hotel mit vielen Bars und Restaurants in der Nähe und sogar noch mehr im Stadtzentrum.

I stayed here for two nights in the sole Suite room they have, right up at the top. It is accessed from the third floor, with a staircase inside the bedroom to take you up to the floor above where everything is located (so it is not accessible for those with reduced mobility). The room was quite old fashioned but very large, and really nothing else matters once you take in the view from the private terrace. There’s a variety of chairs and loungers out there, so if you’re visiting in warmer weather than I was then it would be a fantastic place to sunbathe in absolute privacy (it’s literally the only terrace up there, with no-one overlooking it). The gorge is directly in front, with the old town continuing to snake further up the hill to the left, as well as down to the right towards the newer urban sprawl on the plain below. The Parador and its footbridge are all the way down below on the floor of the gorge. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the Raff San Pedro restaurant in the ba*****t is one of the best in town. This is not a hotel for those who cannot manage hills, but then again Cuenca generally probably isn’t the place to go if you’re in that condition! Lovely, peaceful, relaxing stay. Very glad I followed the recommendation in the Rough Guide and chose this hotel.

Vorteile: Wunderschönes Schlosshotel, Prardos Hotel sind alles gute Orte, direkt gegenüber der malerischen Gegend. Nachteile: Der Preis für dieses Hotel ist relativ günstig, es gibt jedoch weniger unterstützende Einrichtungen, z. B. muss Wasser gekauft werden, und die Parkplätze sind relativ klein. Auch die Restaurants in Cuenca sind normalerweise montags und dienstags geschlossen, können aber im Hotel gegessen werden!

On arrival, reception was unfriendly and unhelpful, telling us we did not have a reserved parking space even though we had booked it with them. On showing email proof they said that was the old system. We now had to take a chance on finding one. Also, no information was given about hotel facilities. We had to ask. The bar and restaurant staff were very off-hand. Reception staff, who were different every time we passed by, didn’t speak. On leaving, I was presented with an amount on a credit card machine and had to ask for a breakdown of the bill. They did not ask if we had enjoyed our stay. After leaving, we realised we had left something in the room safe. Due to language issues we asked reception at our next hotel to phone and ask if they had been found. The response was that nothing had been found in the room or safe. I’m afraid we suspect they didn’t even bother to check the room or safe.

Ich habe nicht gefrühstückt! Ein wenig von der malerischen Gegend entfernt! Es ist sehr bequem mit dem Auto zu parken. Sie müssen etwas früher fahren. Manchmal ist es zu spät und es gibt keinen Platz. Das Parken ist kostenlos! Bus an der Tür zum Klippenhaus

This hotel was a little gem of a find on an unexpected road trip from southern to northern Spain (due to UK Air Traffic Control issues). Online reviews looked good and the location was perfect in respect of the area around which we planned to make our first overnight stop. On arrival we were greeted by two very friendly and welcoming reception staff, one of whom showed us two rooms which were available to accommodate our family of four. The hotel is beautiful, blending the old building with modern twists and furnishings. The sizeable outdoor pool set in its own garden was the perfect way to cool off after a very long drive. The inner courtyard is stunning and made for a perfect setting for our pre-dinner drinks. We dined in the very atmospheric and beautifully appointed restaurant where many main dishes are cooked on coals at the side of the main seating area. The smell of the charcoal and cooking was fantastic and the food was superb and very tasty. A very good wine list gave us a great choice. Having just driven through the wine region of La Mancha, it was an easy decision to opt for a very nice bottle of Finca Antigua Reserva (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah blend) which accompanied our meat beautifully. The service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The rooms were perfectly adequate and air-conditioned. The hotel is quiet and tranquil yet has a wonderful understated buzz about it. Breakfast the following morning was offered for a small additional cost and was adequate if a little limited but it was perfect to get us ready for another long day ahead. The town of Cuenca itself is gorgeous so this hotel is perfect for anyone transiting the area or perhaps visiting Cuenca itself. We would not hesitate to return.
