Agriturismo Frantoio Valiani

If not really terrible, at least extremely disappointing. I don't like being unkind but I am suspicious about the 'excellent' reviews of this agriturismo, which is the worst we found in our trip around Tuscany. The positives - great location close to Cortona, and the room we had is large with good modern AC, really beautiful linen, and a working fridge. However not a single word of English is spoken and we had no wifi or phone signal in our room, so we felt quite isolated during our stay. On arrival there was no-one around to receive us for quite a while. There is no attention to rooms during our stay (perhaps to be expected as the price was quite low, however our bin did seriously overflow). The shower was luke-warm. Rooms issue directly onto the farmyard (this is primarily a working farm) where there rusty, dirty and broken metal furniture is distributed around, all unusable. We bought breakfast one morning and dinner one evening, neither of which we chose to repeat. For us, two retirees on a driving tour of Tuscany, it's hard (impossible) to understand why so many past reviewers found the Frantoio Valliani to be 'excellent'. Reviews should be as kind as possible but also honest. I wish the owners well and hope my low score will draw their attention to some of the issues, encourage them to improve, and by being honest allow prospective guests to form a balanced view.

3 giorni passati benissimo, in un ambiente familiare, pieno di storia e pace. Punto ottimo per escursioni sia a piedi che in bici. E poi relax in piscina ed in mezzo alla natura. Rachele e Paolo ti fanno sentire a casa. La colazione era ottima ed abbondante con prodotti genuini. Grazie, Serena e Maurilio

Consigliatissimo!!! Una esperienza da fare assolutamente... abbiamo dormito nell'antico frantoio una vera suite d'altri tempi con splendidi arredi selezionati da Rachele, attenta e premurosa patron con amorevoli angeli custodi. Colazione dolce e salata con prodotti artigianali di produzione propria che è anche possibile acquistare in loco. Ottima ed elegante cena sempre a km 0 a lume di candela con musica di sottofondo. Un necessario ritorno alla vita genuina...provate e mi direte...
