Holiday Inn Express: Corpus Christi - Beachfront

The location was horrible.

DO NOT STAY! HEALTH DEPARTMENT WILL BE CALLED! First I am stuck here one more day. See attached photos that still understate the condition of this hotel! It's HORRIBLE, service is AWEFUL, and the smell is DISGUSTING. We are waiting for our 3rd room change which I don't believe will happen. Bugs crawling on the ceiling which dropped down, black mold and dust from the air vent, there were poop streaks in the toilet, floors and tub are gross, boogers and food on curtains, and sea mold on outer windows and that's the second room! We left for dinner after the second room change and was told that it would be cleanef and taken care of by the time we returned. Only the poop streaks were cleaned. I called and demanded someone from the font desk come look and was told they can't but would send housekeeping up aga8n they never came. This morning we found that clean towels were clean and two hours later still waiting for new ones. Now for the breakfast, it is cold bread and Begels with oranges only. Go next door to the Holiday Inn Express for their full all you can eat breakfast. It is great for $10! The lobby will tell the tale of what your rooms will be like. The windows and doors are filthy, the automatic and handicapped doors do not work, it's muggy, and the elevators are dirty and wreak. One smells like straight urine! This was reported and the response was "oh that's not acceptable". Yet no action or cleaning has been done. Parking! $10 a day the the front desk made me pay even after I advised I was with a group where parking fees were excluded! Still he had me scan and pay. I confirmed this morning and was told I should not have been told to pay. Customer service. I only have a problem with one person is unconcerned. He only says if there's a problem we can move you again. I asked got a manager and was told he's not in and was given his "personal" number. Well I called and it was the front desk number. When the attendant answered he then hung up on me! The beach! It's a pet friendly hotel and you can smell the pet friendliness coming from the sand. The beach of the of the property has trash out there. If you want to rinse off you will use the water hose provided free of charge. The indoor pool. It's like a sauna and has a strong smell of mildew. Go next door to Holiday Inn where they allow you to use their pools for free if you are staying at Emerald beach! So th8s is my first 24 hour experience. I will update when I either get a response from management or leave this hotel if I can find anything on memorial day weekend. We are here as a group with a basketball organization for a youth tournament and paid close to $500 for this mess. I will not accept anything less then my money back.I will be providing the health department with this information and ALL of the pictures. Wow, this hotel is right on the beach. Go somewhere else, it is terrible and dirty. We paid $180 for this room, yes too much but, it's on the beach. $100 deposit, refundable after they check the room (7 days later if you pay by credit card.) and was charged $10 for parking which should be free for hotel guests. After you check in there is nowhere to park because their lot is shared with the public for the beach. They also pay $10. The elevators were very dirty, never swept out or mopped. The room is very outdated. You can tell at one time it was nice. However, the floor was dirty, we had to wear socks the whole time especially after a shower. The floor is not mopped or even swept, very filthy. The bathroom didn't look too bad, but don't look up to see the black mold on the ceiling. Behind the sink facet looks like it has never been cleaned. Looks like they are trying to grow potatoes. Thick dirt. The only thing clean in this room were the sheets on the bed. My husband took our dog out in the night and took the stairs down, there was puke at the bottom of the stairs. It was not fresh, it had been there for awhile. Breakfast was toast, muffins and coffee. That's it. You would expect after paying this kind of money you would have a little more. This hotel should be paying me to stay there. I did take pictures.

Avoid this hotel at all cost. We have an entire list of problems. The phones in the rooms don’t work. You can’t reach their front desk unless you walk to the desk. They avoid you like the plague. The TVs don’t work. No cable. No internet or wifi. The ice machine is broken. My husband was able to push the “locked” door open with one hand without using a key. Our tv was falling off the wall. My parents opened their mini-fridge and water poured out onto the floor. Everything in their room was unplugged when they got there. Their ceiling had a huge place hanging down over the beds. Probably water damage that was never repaired. Their slider door to their “patio” wouldn’t open. My dad used a lubricating spray to make it the least bit “functional”. There were holes in the window coverings. Their customer service is just flat out rude. At check-in, the guy was just mean. I had made a request before we stayed and was told to mention it when we got there. He yelled at me that they don’t take requests and I’d have to deal with what I was given. The lady told him she had put the request down and it was okay. Should have realized it was a red flag. They have a paid parking lot. I was told it was $15/day for everyone. Then I was told if we would book through a certain company (Priceline) the parking would be free. We were told to scan and pay for parking. My parents were told they didn’t need to. It’s an absolute scam. We are still disputing charges to our cards. Their “renovations” are simple tiles on the shower wall that are half-@ss, and tiles on the floors. That’s where renovations stopped. Even our door had a huge gap at the top. Trim is rotting. The hallway temp was 99° because it’s not air conditioned. The restaurant was shut down. What works? Nothing. Even our shower handle fell off when we tried to turn on the water. I asked for extra towels for our family of four in a double queen room. They had only placed two towels in the room, knowing it was a family of four. They wrote down our room number when I asked for more towels. I also asked for extra pillows and they never brought them. Do not waste your money on this hotel. Avoid it! There are probably many other things that I missed. Don’t stay there!

Very unsafe and dirty beach! My girlfriend's beach purse with our clothes and other items was stolen right under the chairs we brought when we were in the water. We had our chairs right in front of the hotel. Luckily we had our phones taking pictures when we were in the water. This happened on a Thursday so I went to front lobby where they had the "security TVs" and they told me they won't have access to the footage until Monday which is convenient for them since we checkout on Sunday. The beach was very dirty. Swimming in trash. Had a coffee cup lid land on my chest and we constantly avoided the floating trash debris. Needless to say, we checked out early. I have been to 30+ beaches worldwide and I never had anything stolen. Terrible service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

My wife and I made the mistake of staying here for one night July 2nd, 2025. Entering the lobby we were hit with a musty smell. The room was substandard with mold and dirt growing on the wall and ceiling at the a/c vent. Desk handle fell off. Bathroom tub had gross sticky crud in it. Door to room was off set and had to be slammed to shut. They charge for parking ! Elevator cold not go from floor 3 to lobby, it only went to the basement. Upholstery on chair was torn and ragged. Do yourself a favor, stay far away from this unpleasant and gross place. Not worth it. They added a $100 charge for damages they said would be taken off the credit card if we did no damage. This place is a JOKE.
