A really lovely hotel. We stayed here for one night in a deluxe double room. The check in was fast and the girls on reception were very friendly which set the tone nicely for our stay. The room was massive. We were in the I think Tabot rooms. Absolutely stunning very quiet and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. We had a few drinks in the bar again the staff were very friendly. The pool is well kept and again spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good, plenty on offer. Over all a really lovely hotel not too far from the city. I will definitely return again.

Hotel Issacs Cork City has a good center city location, close to the main sites tourists would like to see and not too far from the bus and train stations. When we were there recently, our room was very spacious, especially by European standards. There were 2 drawbacks to the property I feel visitors should be aware of, however. The first is the parking situation. The hotel has no parking of its own, but rather allows you to park in a church lot that is isn’t particularly close, for a fee. The issue is if you have even the slightest mobility issue, it will be rigorous to get your luggage to the hotel. It’s easily .3 -.4 of a mile away and you have to descend a steep incline and get the luggage down several steps to reach the hotel. Then you have to reverse the process when you leave the hotel. You are entirely on your own to handle this. There is no one on staff to assist you. When you want to enter the parking area to drop or retrieve your car or any forgotten belonging, the gate which guards the parking area is locked and you have to call the hotel to have the gate unlocked remotely. It’s a pain and especially so when the staff is unavailable to answer the phone quickly and open the gate. Right now the road in front of the property is all torn up for repairs, so possibly the situation will Improve when those are done, but that is the permanently designated parking area and there is no ‘set down’ space to leave luggage and go park. It’s enough to make us never under any circumstances return. Additionally, our 3rd floor room was not air conditioned and the sun came in at such an angle that it heated up the room until dark, which was late due to the long daylight hours. The day was only about 65 degrees F, but the room temp was 80+ and never cooled down enough to sleep well. If you visit in the summer, be aware that you will be cooked on the 3rd floor. There was only 1 available room we could have moved into and it was air conditioned, but only had a double bed, which wouldn’t work for us. All in all, we wish we’d stayed elsewhere.

Ich blieb letztes Wochenende hier für eine Familienverheiratet und es war fantastisch. Dieses Hotel verfügt über einen wunderbaren historischen Charme mit solchen geräumigen Zimmern und traditionellen Dekor. Das Essen war Top-Notch und wir fanden das Personal sehr professionell und freundlich. Don der Barkeeper insbesondere machte uns zu fühlen, extra willkommen, er ist ein Gefallen.

This could be a great hotel stay but not in summer. The rooms are cooled by 2 tiny windows and small desk fan. The bathrooms don’t even have fans to vent the rooms. On a 75 degree F day in Blarney and windows facing the sun all day long, the room must have been 90 degrees when we checked in. Now at 8:30 PM it is still unbearably hot. We have the door propped open with a pillow and the chain to keep out uninvited guests. We are hoping for some cross ventilation from the hot hallway but this is unlikely because the windows at the stairwell don’t seem to open at all. Staff’s reaction to my question about lack of any AC was “it is a 100 year old hotel”. Well, the mill store connecting to it has AC as does the pub and restaurant they are in former mills also 100 years old. The hotel has location, convenience, cleanliness, etc. going for it — but we are literally roasting in our rooms.

I am in love with their bed!! It’s the best I’ve ever slept on. So in love, I had to investigate to find out who makes their bed: it’s by the natural sleep company. I slept deliciously and I will now get a bed like that for my home. The employees were quite kind and helpful too. Clearly, from the bed alone, they invest in quality. It’s a gorgeous building and exquisitely maintained with a magnificent old world charm. I hope this gem lasts for ages and doesn’t succumb to the boring, overly modern, cookie cutter trope a lot of hotels have fallen into. I will return for sure.

Das Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich

We have visited this hotel yearly for the last 8 times with our family and never have a complaint with it.The standard of food is impressive the staff are so friendl y and the family rooms are so big. The decor of the hotel is beautiful and modern .It is so relaxing the setting also. It's a must! A hidden gem in East Cork.

Als wir ankamen, war das Außenaussehen nicht gut, aber einmal in uns wurde von einer sehr schönen jungen Dame begrüßt, die uns in unsere Zimmer zeigte. Wir beide hatten Zimmer mit wunderschönen Blicken auf die Fallen, sehr sauber, gemütlich, komfortabel und warm. Das Essen war wirklich wunderschön, obwohl nicht zu groß eine Wahl für eine Vegetation, aber John war wirklich freundlich und unterhaltsam! Es war ein junger Mann, der am ersten Abend die Gitarre singt und spielt, er war wirklich gut und wir schlossen uns ein! Frühstück am Morgen war wieder ein wenig enttäuschend für eine Vegetation, aber groß für Fleischfresser! Johns Service war wieder wirklich groß, geben Ideen, wo zu besuchen usw. Unser Essen am nächsten Abend war auch sehr gut und dann hatten wir die Erfahrung vieler älterer Menschen, die in den Pub fahren. Was für eine Nacht!!! Die Paare tanzen irisch und wir waren wirklich erschöpft, nur sie zu sehen, sie sitzen nie wirklich! Wir wurden gebeten, uns beizutreten, wir hätten nicht alle mit ihnen aufrecht erhalten können! Unsere Verwandten gingen aufs Bett und wir blieben unten, um sie zu beobachten, aber wir mussten es einen Tag anrufen und sie alle waren noch auf dem Weg!!! Sie machten nicht einmal einen Lärm, wenn sie verließen! Das Frühstück war wieder gut und John sehr aufmerksam. Das einzige ******, das wir hatten, war ein Hund in dem Zimmer neben unserem Familienzimmer, was sie ein wenig wehe störte. Das war eines unserer Lieblingshotels während unseres Aufenthalts in Irland und würde sicherlich wieder bleiben.
