This could be a great hotel stay but not in summer. The rooms are cooled by 2 tiny windows and small desk fan. The bathrooms don’t even have fans to vent the rooms. On a 75 degree F day in Blarney and windows facing the sun all day long, the room must have been 90 degrees when we checked in. Now at 8:30 PM it is still unbearably hot. We have the door propped open with a pillow and the chain to keep out uninvited guests. We are hoping for some cross ventilation from the hot hallway but this is unlikely because the windows at the stairwell don’t seem to open at all. Staff’s reaction to my question about lack of any AC was “it is a 100 year old hotel”. Well, the mill store connecting to it has AC as does the pub and restaurant they are in former mills also 100 years old. The hotel has location, convenience, cleanliness, etc. going for it — but we are literally roasting in our rooms.

In dem Frühstücksraum wurde uns jedoch ein Tisch mehrere Schritte nach unten gegeben, obwohl es mindestens ein Dutzend kostenlose Tische auf der Ebene des Bodens gab. Auch hier ist die Umgebung schön dekoriert, einschließlich eines runden Tischs mit attraktiven und unpraktischen Boxen, die es unmöglich machen, komfortabel sitzen. Jedes Hotel muss herausfinden, wie man Frühstück kostengünstig serviert, während es eine ausgezeichnete Erfahrung für die Gäste bietet. Die im Imperial verwendete ”Vogelkage” Hochtee-Typ-Sortierung muss bedeuten, dass sie nicht ausgewählte Gegenstände entsorgen. Obwohl diese Eigenschaft zu den ersten wären wir bei einem Rückkehrbesuch berücksichtigen, würden wir nicht die Frühstücksoption wählen.

Sehr freundlicher und professioneller Empfang. Überall ist es gepflegt und sauber. Zimmer nicht groß aber ausreichend. Betten bequem. Am Frühstück größtenteils Selbstbedienung. Warme Speisen werden geschöpft. Gutes Angebot an frischen und schön gerichteten Speisen. Das Personal ist meist freundlich, höflich und hilfsbereit. Einer der Manager war ”unterwegs”. Sehr arrogant stolzierte er im Früstücksraum und Rezeption umher. Beachtete die Gäste gar nicht. Kein Gruß oder sonstige Höflichkeiten. Leider ist keine Parkmöglichkeit direkt am Haus.

Ich hatte ein Zimmer mit einem Fenster, das dem Innenhof gegenüber steht, das bedeutete, kein Fenster mit Tageslicht. Zu dem Preis, den ich gezahlt habe, würde ich erwarten, ein Zimmer mit einem Fenster mit Tageslicht. Das Spa war nicht sauber und ich genossen es überhaupt nicht. Das Frühstück war auch nicht gut. Ich werde nicht wieder bei Clayton bleiben.

Alles fußläufig erreichbar. Zimmer ansprechend. Betten angenehm und nicht zu hart. Badezimmer ok. Waschbecken allerdings gefühlt auf Kniehöhe und die festmontierten Duschköpfe oberhalb des Kopfes an der Wand mag ich persönlich halt nicht so. Frühstück ist vielseitig- englisch aber auch kontinental, mit Obstsalat, Müslis, Diversen Brotsorten und Belag. Der Kaffee ist suboptimal.

…kann man dieses 2 Jahre junge Hotel in sehr guter Citylage ( direkt neben Bahnhof) bezeichnen . Die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter ist unbedingt hervorzuheben…man fühlt sich sofort wohl und willkommen! Jung & modern spiegelt sich auch in der Loungemusik (Terrasse/Lobby/Sophie‘s Bar) wieder. Sehr gut ist das Fitness Center und der kleine Pool/Sauna Bereich…leider wegen Platzmangel ohne Ruhezonen… Was man verbessern sollte: an der Rezeption können keine Ausflüge & Touren gebucht werden …schade. Kein Kleiderschrank im Zimmer und eine kaputte Klobürste die eine Woche lang nicht ausgetauscht wurde…🙄 Lobbybar ohne Barhocker sollte man vielleicht nicht als Bar, sondern als Lounge bezeichnen… Zum Schluss positiv:: Die Dachterassenbar SOPHIE‘S im 6.Stock …TOP LOCATION innen & außens Fazit : SEHR ZU EMPFEHLEN!!! Hotel ist sehr gut vom Flugplatz aus erreichbar. Die Stadt Cork ist sehr gut mit dem Bus bzw. PKW erreichbar. Haben das Hotel für einen Startpunkt um Sehenswürdigkeiten im Süden von Irland zu nehmen, da es sehr gut an die Straßenverbindungen liegt. Wir würden jederzeit dieses Hotel wieder nehmen.

I will start with the couple positives.....the beds are comfortable and the front desk employees are friendly. That is about it however. Our room was a good size and the bathroom looked as if it had recently been updated. Unfortunately there was black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. The shower had no place to put the soap or any other items one usually has in the shower and the hand help shower head could only be used if one held it. (no adjustable stationary setting for a real ”shower” experience.) I went to use the bathtub and found hair around the drain. (short hair..yuck) The rest of the hotel desperately needs a facelift, painting, carpet, furnishing. My shoes stuck to the floor in the breakfast area...something needed to be mopped up. We had bed and breakfast usually a good idea but not here. The selection was poor and meager. We stayed two nights. (in for a funeral and this hotel was the only one nearby that had vacancy and now of course I know why!!!) The second day we went for breakfast at 8:30 (breakfast from 7:30-10am) and they were all out of anything but pink mini donuts and bread rolls in the bread area. I mentioned to a server that they were out of almost all options did they need to restock and she said that was it!!! All gone. Many people arrived after us so it wasn't a case of no one else showing up for breakfast. Even the water pitcher with a lone lemon slice was empty!! The section for the cheese and meat contained two slices of cheese and four of a pressed ham. The cereal section (coco puffs, etc) was just as limited and listless. In an other room next to the breakfast room you could BUY scones and croissants but they were not available to those of us with breakfast included. The manager said you can't have those because those are ”the big ones”. We have travelled all over the world for the past 40 years and I honestly have to say this was one of the worst hotel experiences we have encountered.
