East Winds St. Lucia- All Inclusive

We spent a week here after spending a week in another hotel on the south of the island. There was a completely different vibe at East Winds - very peaceful and relaxing. As mentioned in other reviews, the clientele is mostly retired British couples. In our late 50s, we considered ourselves to be younger than many of the other guests. There were however a few much younger couples including one on honeymoon, who, despite the obvious age gap, appeared to be having a great time. The other young couple, we heard were influencers, invited there by management. The hotel has very recently refurbed and the furniture and soft furnishings are fresh and colourful. Sadly, the old furniture is currently being stored in the gym meaning the gym is out of action. We had the sense the hotel is currently at a cross roads, negotiating which route to take for the future. Do they continue to cater for the retired Brits, many of whom come back year after year, and do not want the hotel to change or do they look to attract a new future client base?. To stay successful inevitably means a business has to evolve and adapt to changing customer needs. We, in our late 50’s, are the potential returning customer base of the future, but, like many of our age, we value our fitness and seek opportunities to exercise regularly, but with the gym closed and no exercise classes my only outlet was getting up early to swim lengths in the pool before the other guests were up. Some days I couldn’t even do this until after breakfast as the pool was ‘closed’. I would love to introduce my children (in their mid- late 20’s ) to this lovely hotel, but I know they too would want a working gym and/ or fitness classes to be available. The hotel could maintain its calm tranquillity at the same time as providing more opportunities for those who wish to exercise and this might attract a new customer base Positives Fresh Fruit and yogurts at breakfast with Lovely cappuccinos and lattes made to order Afternoon tea and cakes / biscuits served from 4-5pm Great bbq with local lobster as it was in season and a fun cocktail competition despite horrendous weather that evening Nikita ran the twice weekly pilates class - she just took one look at everyone and accurately diagnosed any joint issues - The Second time around, we were the only couple there so she focussed on our own particular strengths and weaknesses which was great Damien, Devon and Joe- the water sports staff- seemed happy to take us out on a hobie , wind permitting, in the morning if we asked them. This was a highlight for us Lovely beach- not long enough for taking walks along but lots of space for the hotel guests with enough loungers and plenty of shade and a nice and welcome breeze from the sea. Pool area with serve yourself bar. Pool big enough for swimming lengths in if desired Negatives First night- our dinner order had obviously been forgotten and we didn’t get any food served despite couples seated after us being serve

East Winds Another good stay. Staff were lovely as always. Housekeeping ok but not quite as good as before Watersports amazing and built up my confidence further re sailing Food was good to excellent. Ivana kindly did a special 5 course meal for us which was lovely. We were also introduced to Junior who was doing the desserts. A very talented young man. Transport to and from the cricket well organised by Paul and East Winds great about giving us sandwiches and wine for our rooms so we could eat late when we got back. Lovely Houseparty atmosphere and fun guests. Have already booked for next year and looking forward to the tweaks and improvements .

We split our stay in St Lucia, 4 nights in the south and 6 nights further North at East Winds. We are not really beach people but we loved East Winds. There was enough to do as well as time to relax. We stayed in room 27 which was lovely, it had a sea view and the feeder on the balcony attracted lots of birds including hummingbirds. We took part in the yoga and pilates, we had massages and I had a facial. We went out on the hobie cat a couple of times, the paddleboards and used the snorkeling gear (although not too much to see). We did the excursion to Pigeon Island and the walk with Simeon on a Tuesday morning and the rum tasting was brilliant. The quality of the food and wine was exceptional and all the staff are so lovely and very helpful. We loved every minute of our stay and would love to return again one day. Thank you for such a great holiday.

Can’t fault anything! The team, the gardens, accommodation and attention to detail. The cottages are just stunning! I loved that the resort never felt overcrowded, it made it so much more relaxing. If you could make a plane that could get us there in an hour from the UK that would be the icing on the cake! 😂. We had a lovely Christmas with our girls and will treasure our memories and our cute Christmas gifts.

I came to St Lucia with some friends who were getting married at the hotel and it was a beautiful week. The grounds are stunning and the accommodation is very traditional. Every single member of staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The wedding was absolutely stunning and executed exceptionally from the team. The rooms have bug spray and insect repellent which was a lovely touch! I had a massage and the open air experience whilst hearing all the calmness from the gardens was amazing. We were unfortunate to be here for hurricane beryl but it was handled so professionally and the team ensured we’d have anything we needed and we still had hot meals delivered during this time. They had also arranged for us to have breakfast / lunch / day access at a nearby hotel whilst they cleaned up the grounds following the hurricane. It’s a very traditional experience at east winds and one I would recommend for authenticity and charm. An excellent team which truly make it too!

You won't find a better place to stay. Anywhere. This little Boutique-by-the-beach location is exquisite, caters to your every need, is safe, friendly and surrounded by lovely gardens. Where-ever you walk you'll see something beautiful, whether it is the hummingbirds, some new flower, or the Beach itself. Very private and relaxed, the sunchairs are extremely high-quality with excellent padding and are under fixed-post thatched umbrellas. Waitstaff will gladly bring you any drink or snack, and they loved my new Mocktail! (ask for La Zo and see if you like it too) The rooms have everything you need, and the sunken-in showers are a delight. Bed is super comfy, good sized spaces for hanging, luggage racks, bathroom spaces etc. On arrival my bed and the whole room and bathroom were decorated with flowers grown on site and changed a few times for fresh ones. It was a magical holiday. I wish I could live there. The restaurant is excellent and I'm told lots of people from nearby resorts come just for the all-inclusive drinks and meal menus. Very fair price. The restaurant staff are very accomodating. You'll love the changes in menu every day and the fresh fruit blends they offer at breakfast. I didn't want to leave the grounds at all but I did take a tour on a yacht which went down to Soufriere, and we had the mud experience and the waterfall and then snorkelling in the afternoon, with lunch provided by East Winds kitchen. Far better than I was expecting, it was a truly lovely day. The musical entertainment is quite varied and I enjoyed every performer, however, they have a Pianist who is most extremely talented and makes any evening a highlight of your stay. Just sitting in the Hexagonal Bar, with the Book Exchange and the Orchids can be a pleasant way to spend the day, but I confess the gentle tides and the pink lounge chairs called me again and again. The water is truly emerald in colour, and due to the little bay, easy and gentle to swim or float in. The Yoga room which caters to pilates etc is a huge, wooden decked- open space and I enjoyed the walking tour of the Garden with Sylvanus very much indeed. I am counting the days until my return. I won't stay anywhere else in St Lucia.
