Interior design is great and rooms quite clean, apart from old facilities in bathroom such as rancid and expired body lotion with a strange milky texture and odd "off" smell. But coffee machine worked fine and soft drinks are included in the minibar. Metro station close by, in otherwise "off" industrial area still under construction. Everything is to be purchased in the shop. The commercial side is clearly the main reason for the The Audo to exist; as a prolonged show room. Common library never open during our stay. Neither restaurant. We managed to get in through a side door with a code at around 21.30. On the web site, owners are keen to point out that guest are "responsible for their own stay" - in our eyes an odd view of customers. (A welcoming attitude and service is normally also on the providers side in hospitality, if repeat guest are desired. Of course, everyone is then responsible for own behavior, but that also includes owners&staff.) Sewer smell in the elevator. Unfortunately, all common facilities seemed to be closed during our stay, including the shop where we were supposed to purchase all Scandic brands in house. Service is close to zero, especially the staff in the coffee shop. They were honestly rude, even if we were the only visitors before the coffee shop opened. At breakfast, you may choose two items; 1 oz plain yoghurt with grains or old rye bread from the day before. Or fruit salad consisting of one imported green apple cut in pieces. Either a small coffee OR a glass of unspecified juice, clearly not fresh. Staff didn't notice us leaving. No wonder since they looked away deliberately, despite our departure/goodbye and bags. Perhaps we didn't fit in to the desired design of The Audo. We are fine with that, knowing there are so many other, real high level boutique hotels in Copenhagen with a warm welcome to all guests.
