Quoted €220 for the suite. It's absolutely fabulous . When you see the suite you'll not want to leave. Sooo Luxurious. There was such attention to detail in designing this room. The simple things need to be noticed by staff members though to keep it at that level and for me I noticed the chandeliers had bulbs blown. They also had two completely different sets of bulbs which effects the lighting. For a room of that standard everything needs to be maintained even down to those simple things. My partner was working in the area so he left quite early leaving me to lie on and appreciate to comfort and luxury of the room. I was so beyond disappointed to have workers drilling, moving timbers and working on an extension at 08:00 that morning. The whole point was for me to get away, relax, sleep in and get up much later than usual. On checking out I was asked did I have breakfast. I went on to express that I was very disappointed that no one advised us that there was work being carried out during our stay. There was no consideration that we would be impacted or effected by this. We were given a suite directly above it. I feel the receptionist could have handled this more effectively. Some understanding wouldn't have gone unnoticed. Eye contact, tone etc was completely off. I was just told ”sorry”. In my mind a thorough apology after a quote of over €200 for a suite deserved much more. I've worked within the hospitality industry and we would not have allowed this to happen in the first place. If a customer had a complaint for any reason beyond our control then we would encouraged another stay to rectify their experience with a meal or a discount on the next stay. Coming from a Sales and Marketing Manager & a Wedding Co-ordinators point of view, there has been no future thought to how each experience or couple through their doors can bring a future engagement night, a wedding , a christening and so forth from that one stay. In my thinking if the receptionist can't allocate accordingly or inform their guest about whats going on within the hotel then I'm not going to have much faith or confidence that any event in their hands could be managed effectively and to a acceptable standard. Also a huge No No for me would be to allow my staff members to walk from behind the reception desk area to greet any customer while she has a mouth full of food and to only solve a complaint after that with ”sorry”.
