By The Bay Beachfront Apartments (Mangonui) couldn’t be nicer: clean, spacious, modern, very well equipped….. The apartments are adjacent to the beautiful beach, where the swimming is quite safe. Danny, the owner, is friendly and helpful. The price/night is very reasonable. I recommend this lodge without hesitation. (I have absolutely no connection to this lodge or to Danny.)

Host Danny was fantastic and very helpful, the views were equally as fantastic. There are three days I would want to be there, the day Danny catches a Marlin, followed by the day Danny catches a blue fin and lastly the day Danny catches a yellow fin. Good luck with your lines Danny!

Danny is an amazing host . Friendly and helpful with any query. Extra fun on the beach watching Danny use his drone to catch snapper. We only live 90 minutes from By The Bay Apartments . What a bonus finding such a great bolt hole so close to home . We just wanted a quiet couples break away for a few days. Staying put with the spa and the beach was all we needed. The Studio is our new getaway spot. We will be back soon. Already recommended By The Bay to our friends. 💯

excellent location, right on the beach,room was perfect,had everything we needed,very comfy bed,spa pool overlooking the beach, very nice manager, very helpful,nice to just walk out of the room and be on the beach highly recommended. We will be back.

I stayed in Coopers Beach at By the Bay for nearly 2 months (February, March 2024). My stay couldn’t have been nicer. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was new and comfy, and all amenities were available (including a washing machine and a dryer). The area is very peaceful and the beach/ocean unbeatable. The owner of the establishment, Danny, was extremely attentive and friendly throughout my long stay. To summarize, By the Bay is truly fabulous!

Really enjoyed our visit to Coopers Beach. Accommodation was excellent. Spacious 3 bedroom unit with beach views from balcony. Beach at the doorstep with Kayaks etc... to borrow, outside spa overlooking beach was a real treat. Amenities in unit made stay easier to be based here for a few days, full kitchen, dryer, washing machine, clothes racks etc... Management very easy and relaxed.

Being right on the beach with views across the bay, this place is aptly named. We had everything we needed, and the manager was friendly and helpful. Coopers Beach and Mangonui have great eating out options. The perfect place to visit Cape Reinga and back in a day. A recipe for a great holiday. Would definitely come back.

Great location on the bay with beach access steps away, and a hot tub to warm you up after your plunge. Clean, tidy, with a very comfortable bed and a washing machine to clean our cycling clothing. Wonderful to sit and stare out over the water and see Karikari peninsula in the distance.

The view is so great I can’t imagine. When you walk along the beach during the sunset, you could be melted in. If you like fishing, it’s good idea to take your rods. I caught 3 snappers within two hours on the wharf of Mangnui. Off cause the Staff are very nice and kind. They can tell you what you want to know. the rooms are very clean and comfortable with sea view. There is also a huge kitchen.
