New Inn at Coln

Booked for supper. Lovely environment. Service very slow and not very friendly. Starters really delicious but main courses disappointing. Bland, over cooked and salty. Such a shame as we hoped it would be great. Not sure we will go back unless for a summer drink under the umbrellas.

Walked from Fairford to Coln St Aldwyns for lunch. Food and atmosphere very good. Great selection of small plates, all good value. Fresh ingredients. Roaring open fires. Superb manager Sophie, treated us kindly, above and beyond. Highly recommend.

We went on a weekend trip from London to Bibury and the New in Inn is wonderful. Cosy fireplaces and amazing food - but what stood out most were the lovely staff who could not have been more attentive, friendly and helpful. Marie & Gabby went out of their way to make us feel welcome and provided top level service. I can't recommend enough. We can't wait to go back.

A mixed experience. We arrived before the 3pm check-in time but it was made very clear we would not be looked after until the allotted time. There was no suggestion of having a drink etc, just told 3pm is the time. We decided to look to sit down and some staff were not helpful in accommodating without a reservation despite there being available tables. We were booked for the new years dinner which was overpriced for what was served. In addition the service was rushed, the staff inexperienced (opening wine at the bar and not opening/tasting at the table) and we were informed 15 mins before our 2 hour time slot they needed the table back. We also asked to slow down service between courses which wasn’t accommodated for. The location is lovely and it has the potential to be a really welcoming spot but the staff really let it down. Breakfast was good but deemed a ‘foodie’ place, I agree with other comments the lunch/dinner menu was tailored to burger eaters with little alternative.

We had a fantastic lunch and were served by really polite and welcoming staff. Would highly recommend for a meal. We had the lunch of the day which was delicious in attractive surroundings. Lovely village location in the heart of the Cotswolds.

Stayed here with friends for a 2 night stay for a weekend wedding. staff were super accomodating rooms were all unique but with great amenities. We were a group of approx 20 people so I'm sure we probably took the place over but we had a great time. we had a group dinner and was all served beautifully. great wine selection, delicious cocktails and friendly staff. special thanks to the scottish lady who helped me check in a few minutes early as I was faffing and looking after a baby. p.s sorry for trapping the giant spider under the glass and running away from it, I pardoned it a death under a shoe at least :)
