Colchester Town Centre

The hotel was in a good location, the rooms were clean and spacious. A majority of the staff were friendly and informative, but one member of staff was a bit miserable. This didn’t put us off but we were very surprised that the hotel bar/restaurant was not open when we arrived at lunchtime, so we went out for food, and on our return at 10.30pm was also closed. Strange as we have always managed to get a drink or a snack at premier inns until at least 11pm. And on asking miserable staff member who wasn’t doing anything else, apart from chatting to his mate sitting in The reception area, and was told the bar shuts at 10pm!! As he had to man the front desk! Which is strange as when we arrived we was told to use the self service checkin, and if we had problems there was a button to press for assistance. The hotel car park is limited but we found a space as we arrived early. Despite the above if visiting Colchester again I would use this hotel, but take some provisions with me in case the bar/restaurant was closed again.

Thank you so so much to the man that was working on the front desk at 11pm on 21/12/24. I’d gotten split up from my friends on a night out and my phone was completely dead and I’d been walking for over an hour on my own trying to find them or a place to charge my phone so I could call them. He checked if I was okay and offered me a portable charger so I could call them. Idk what I would’ve done otherwise and he was pretty much the only reason I managed to get home.

We had a fantastic stay at Premier Inn. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was incredibly cozy, ensuring a great night’s sleep. Robert a member of staff was so friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with any requests, making the experience even better. The hotel’s location was convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and transport links. The breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of options to suit everyone. Overall, Premier Inn exceeded my expectations, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!”
