Hotel Zehnthof

We totally enjoyed our stay at Hotel Zehnthof. We stayed for 5 nights. Sandor, part of the family who owns Hotel Zehnthof (and his wife) were amazing hosts. He carried our luggage up 3 flights of stairs. They both prepared a very enjoyable breakfast every morning. The breakfast was wonderful, and included eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh meats and cheeses, fresh rolls and bread. I enjoy yogurt and granola and fruit (in one bowl) as part of my breakfast - they had all 3 and more. Fresh Coffee carafe at every table. The breakfast room is a nice cozy small family type eating area. There is a separate room for overflow, or if someone desires more privacy. The Room was amazing. We had a balcony, with chairs, and from the balcony we had views of Cochem Castle (Reichsburg Castle). In addition, we could see across the river into the town of Cochem, and to the Bridge over the Mosel. The bed was comfortable, the sheets clean, plenty of blankets. Clean bathroom. Housekeeping staff were so friendly. Sandor gave us recommendations on Restaurants. One of which, La Baia, had better pizza than any pizza that we had during 2 weeks in Italy. This is not a joke. It truly was amazing. So good, that we went back another night. Many visitors are power walkers, and can walk for miles every day. We are a bit more cautious, possibly due to our age, almost 70. A tip for others, who may not wish to walk many miles every day: There are local buses - most of them start with 7##. The 703 bus stops next to Da Vinci Restaurant (which is less than 5 minute walk from the hotel front door). The 703 next two stops are (a) Endertplatz - the Bus station, which is a 2 minute walk to Cochem Old Town area. (b) the second stop is Cochem Mosel (the Train Station). Every day, we took the 703, over the bridge. Several days, we took trains for day excursions, so we got off at the 2nd stop (Cochem Mosul). One example: We went to Bernkastel-Kues via Train (from Cochem) to Bullay, then separate train from Bullay to Traben, then River Boat Cruise from Traben to Bernkastel-Kues. On another day, we took the 703 to the Train station, then a train from Cochem to Hatzenport, then a bus to Burg Eltz. There are many things to see, many places to eat in Cochem. Sandor and his wife truly made our stay more enjoyable and easier. We HIGHLY recommend Hotel Zehnthof.

We had a lovely stay at the Zehnthof. The host was so friendly and thoughtful. He ask which room we prefered, the top floor with a beautiful view or a second floor room. The catch was no lift but he offered to haul luggage to the top floor. We really enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was all you could desire.

FANTASTIC hotel on the right bank of the Mosel! Views of the Castle, river, and Cochem. We were welcomed by the family that runs this hotel, offered help with our luggage (no elevator), and treated like treasured guests. The Frühstück breakfast was amazing, and the coffee excellent! Beer and wine are available in coolers for your enjoyment, and we enjoyed our balcony. Plenty of places to eat in the vicinity, with an excellent Italian restaurant, by the bridge. When we return to Cochem, we will definitely stay here again!

Situated across the water from the centre, but within easy walking distance over the bridge. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was a bit dated and the bathroom was tiny and very dated Looking. Though everything was clean and tidy. Breakfast was very good, plenty to choose from. I would stay here again.

A wonderful stay - staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. In a PERFECT location near the bridge. Highly recommend. Traditional and fantastic! Parking available which is great and makes for very picturesque photos!

The hotel was easy to locate. There is a large carpark in front of the hotel that technically don’t belong to them but on weekends you can park with no issues. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. He gave lots of tips and advice. He also upgraded us to a room with a balcony. Unfortunately it was on the third floor with only stairs up. If you prefer a balcony by all means ask for it. I would have preferred a lower floor room as I have bad knees. Still I am grateful and thanked them for it. The room was clean. There were cleaning gel in the bathroom but that is all. No fridge, no kettle. I think there was a tv which we didn’t use. Wifi was good and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was good with variety. It is not facing the river but just a block in. We walked down the riverfront. There were lots of tourists out and about and also river cruises. A night cruise arrived and there were very noisy revelers. So I imagine hotels facing the river will be noisier. Hotel Zehnthof is just away from the noise yet easy to get to the river. Would highly recommend this.

Well run, family hotel. Very helpful . Great breakfast buffet. 3rd floor room with balcony was quite large, with a great view. Room was very clean & bed was comfortable. No elevator but the owner is in good shape & will run your suitcases up & down the stairs for you. 🤣
