Tawa Refugio del Puelo

My family and I spent four nights at this amazing hotel. The location and buildings are truly beautiful with the main lodge is more spectacular than it looks in the photos. Also, the meals and general attention to detail are of the highest level. What makes the place truly special is the friendly and highly capable team. The planned excursions facilitated by expert guides provided were truly epic and made for two of the best long hikes we’ve ever done. We can’t say enough about Tawa Refugio. Highly recommended.

The hotel was beautifully appointed and located right on the glacial lake. The view outside of our room was gorgeous. The highlight of our stay was the food, which was absolutely incredible in terms of quality and presentation. Our sincerest thanks to the kitchen crew. The reception staff was extremely kind and hard-working. We especially appreciated Diego. Our only complaint was the lack of information that we were able to obtain from the reception crew. When we asked about information about local activities, we were directed to a QR code. The QR code was broken. We were received several text messages from the team about recommendations of things to do nearby, without addresses, locations and/or other useful info. English is a second language for all of the staff. Written, English language material would be so appreciated rather than a broken web link. Additionally, we encountered a 2 Hour Rd. closure on the way back from the hotel to the airport. We were the only people sitting in the line of traffic for an hour. We were not warned that this could happen, although locals definitely were informed.

Tawa Refugio is a perfect place to disconnect, immersed in nature. With unique and beatifull architecture that highlights the incredible view of Lake Tagua Tagua and the Puelo River, it offers comfortable and minimalist rooms, a restaurant serving top-quality dishes, emphasizing local ingredients. The service provided by the staff is excellent and highly personalized. Additionally, it offers various excursions suited to all tastes and ages. Definitely, I want to come back every year!

This is the perfect place to stay if you want to explore Tawa Tawa and Puelo valley. Everything is perfect! You feel like home away from home. The staff is really personable and on top of every single detail. The rooms are really comfortable and the food is great. Their knowledge of the area is quite amazing. They will help you get the best of your stay with personalized activities. A true gem!

Absolutely gorgeous setting and outstanding staff. Food was delicious and portions generous. We went on a river trip and some hikes. You can also fish and ride horses in the area. Do not skip the hot tub experience (followed by a lake cold plunge) We will definitely be back!
