Hampton Inn & Suites Lake Jackson-Clute

While it is a Hilton brand, there is no digital key even though the confirmation emails said one was coming. Reception was friendly when we arrived after 4:00. Our room was on the third floor and the carpet in the halls are heavily stained. Our room was a suite and very much in need of refreshing. Our nose tissue container had one tissue and an empty wrapper. The toilet is the very old style where you feel like you’re going to fall to the floor before you actually sit! The TV is in the center of the room and barely swivels so not seen well from the sofa or the bed. The floor lamp doesn’t work and the Ethernet connector is so very passé. There’s a safe but it’s locked with no instructions and there are no glasses in the room. There were little flying bugs in the bathroom sink when we got there, we washed them away, not sure how or why they got there. The coffee in the room is actually good and choice of coffee for breakfast was good. The hot breakfast was cheese omelettes, Canadian bacon, breakfast potatoes, waffles, oatmeal. The cold was cereal, muffins, fruits.

Greetings Potential Guest, I am a former employee, and from working at this hotel its obvious and known fact that some of these reviews are posted by employees to make the property seem better than it is. During my short time working at this hotel, I had many guest encounters, where guest reported bed bugs in some of the guest rooms, and some guest also mentioned they saw roaches in their room and in other areas of the hotel during their stay. Management tends to sweep this issue under the rug and provides the guest with an excuse that the roaches they are seeing are tree roaches coming in from outside due to the heat. I feel it's safe to say when you travel and are staying in a hotel you want your room clean and you defineatly don't want to share the room with any pest infestation. The unpleasant oder thru-out the hallways is not from the nearby plants, which management will use as the excuse. Its from the years of filth that is inbeded in the carpet due to the years of neglected property management and upkeep. The hotel provides a complimentary hot breakfast for its guest. But most of our guest are unaware that the majority of the time their breakfast consist of left overs that have been cooked and reheated ranging anywhere from 3 to 5 days prior. The Hampton Happy Meal breakfast bag at the front desk which contain a frozen bagel, water and a Orange often times are the safer route to take and sound more appealing than the hot breakfast. The hotel night shift is required to prepare and set up the breakfast for service starting at 6am and ending at 9am for guest. The hotel night shift does not have a food handlers or food safety certification and alot of times there is no certified breakfast attendant present until service has ended and they only come in for clean up. When you check out if you have experienced any of what i have mentioned theres no doubt you would be running out the door. But before you leave make sure you get a receipt with a zero balance before leaving. I have witnessed people be charged after they have departed and I have printed emails that were sent to guest after their departure, informing them that they are being charged for damaged bedsheets. towels or items missing from the guest room. All to later find out that the items were washed and reused and misplaced by the hotels own housekeeping. But do you think the guest was issued a refund for the items they were charged for? The Answer is NO they were not. If you are a extended stay guest you have to request housekeeping, you may or may not get it its all depending on the amount of check outs or housekeeping staff available for that day. Safety isn't really a issue, however from time to time there are some local area homeless individuals in the parking lot and a few times there was some disruptive guest that caused a few proplems. The front desk staff was very friendly, the lobby was clean and welcoming. The exterior of the building looked very nice. Stepping off of the elevator onto the 3rd floor, the carpet was filthy and heavily stained in the hallway. The room was clean but needs to be refreshed. There was a terrible smell in the room and apparently others had the same issue because people had their doors propped open. This hotel desperately needs some interior work.

Nice room for the price. Location was convenient Pretty large, comfy bed. Room was clean. Front desk was courteous and helpful. Coffee was good. Couch could be updated but otherwise I could recommend.

We booked because it had breakfast. Stained carpets, coffee machine in room doesn’t work and at 8am a disgusting remnant of something that was supposed to once be breakfast. Won’t be returning here. $116 of waste… Staff were nice though although embarrassed.

The manager of this hotel made my stay at Hampton Inn the most unpleasant and regretful trip I have ever taken. She does not like or employ Hilton's pet policy and her attitude and demeanor show it. She made my trip a horrible experience.

Through my work I practically live at hotels. I love staying at the candlewood suites due to the kitchen. Hotel is clean and everyone is super nice. Housekeeping is awesome. They even have a copy with all your essentials so you don’t even have to ask for your needs.

This hotel is in need of refurbishing and renovation. My room was dirty. The carpet was stained and disgusting. The room was poorly lit —very dark. There was an overwhelming musty odor. Front desk staff were inattentive and unhelpful. Breakfast options were very limited. If you can stay anywhere else, I’d encourage you to do so.

Clean, convenient, great service, breakfast, rooms are always clean with nice amenities. I usually try to stay here if they have rooms available. It's a working town and a lot of people come from out of town.
