Dunvegan Lodge

We absolutely loved our stay at Dunvegan Lodge! Very comfortable and spacious apartment with everything we needed for our stay. We loved the decor and appreciated the extra touches (bougainvillea flower, chocolate, and shell on the bed). Dunvegan Lodge is perfectly located for a quiet stay at the sea. We are definitely going to recommend it to our friends and family.

My wife and I stayed for 26 nights at Dunvegan and found it to be an ideal lodge, in an excellent location, which was great value for money; and had the best hosts in Lisa & Wayne. Well worth trying out in the Clovelly district of the Western Cape.

A Wonderful Month-Long Stay in Cape Town Paradise We spent a memorable month at Dunvegan Lodge in November and couldn't have chosen a better place. The accommodations exceeded our expectations, with exceptionally comfortable beds featuring top-quality mattresses and luxurious linens that ensured restful nights. The hosts, Lisa and Wayne, were outstanding – their warmth and attentiveness made us feel completely at home. No request was too small or too large for them, and their hospitality truly enhanced our stay. Special mention must go to Patience, the housekeeper, whose impeccable service and lovely personality added another layer of excellence to our experience. The property itself is a gem – beautifully maintained with stunning grounds. Its location is ideal for exploring Cape Town, though we recommend having a car to make the most of your stay. One consideration for future guests: the property features several stairs, which might be challenging for those with mobility issues. Overall, Dunvegan Lodge provided us with a perfect home away from home for our month-long stay. The combination of comfortable accommodations, exceptional service, and beautiful surroundings made for an unforgettable experience.

Beautiful location, lovely hosts, luxurious linen standards. The house nestles into the mountainside and it's trails are accessible from the property. Hosts were super friendly, communicative and gave great local spot restaurant recommendations. Kalk Bay is closeby, as are ocean views for dayssss. Can't wait to be back again.

My wife and I, on a recommendation from Birding Pals, stayed at Dunvegan Lodge for 10 days. Lisa and Wayne are the proprietors, and it didn't take long for us to feel very much at home. Lisa and Wayne are wonderful people and we now count them as friends. They went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and memorable. The accommodations are wonderful, and the nice touch of electric blankets during the winter was so nice. The Lodge grounds are very beautifully landscaped, and welcoming to many interesting birds. Lisa keeps bird feeders going, and we always made it a point to see what South African birds were visiting. Past the feeders, there are trails through the natural area. The birding is good. We saw a lot of cool species as Cape grassbird and Southern double-collared sunbird. The Fynbos plant community is so interesting. Dunvegan Lodge is very close to Fish Hoek and the restaurants and shops there. We look forward to returning and most definitely will stay there again.

A truly stunning location. Beautiful Mountain views a short walk to the beach, hiking trails and situated close to Cape Town’s coolest seaside village, Kak Bay on one side and the route to Simon’s Town and Cape Point National Park. Lisa and Wayne, the proprietors and their amazing staff are warm, kind and welcoming. Having stayed in three of the rooms there's one thing in common, comfortable beds, fluffy pillows and soft dreamy duvets. Everything you need is there. A small kitchenette if you want to cook and an espresso machine to start your day off on the right track. The pool and garden provide the perfect setting to chill in the sun or shade, have a Braii or a campfire. I truly can't say enough good things having states dozens of guest houses in the Western Cape. This is a true gem.
