Beschreibung der Unterkunft
If you are looking for a mountain get-away to escape from the crowds after a busy day on the ski slopes or hiking trails, this is the perfect “base camp” for you! The magic of this location is the easy transition from ski cabin to summer hideaway. The oversized, fenced yard is under the forest canopy of towering pines, vine maples and lush ferns, providing cool spots for napping in the hammock, reading in the Adirondack chairs, playing yard games and relaxing around a fire. Leave behind the hustle and heat of the city. Bring food for the grill and a good book to take in the fresh mountain air. Our property has a 60amp ChargePoint EV charging station with a NACS port. Please bring your own CCS adapter if required for your vehicle.
We are located at the gateway to Mount Hood - about an hour's drive from beautiful Portland, Oregon. This area is the perfect start from which to explore the many different areas of Mt. Hood with countless hiking trails, ski areas, and lakes to fish in. This cabin is just 12 miles away from the slopes of Ski Bowl, and 18 miles to Timberline Lodge. Small grocery stores, gas station, local restaurants and bars are all just a short drive away. Come prepared to relax and enjoy the beauty of the great Pacific Northwest.
This 2-story cabin was built in 1930. While we have added modern touches throughout, the interior of the cabin boasts original hardwood floors, kitchen cabinets & counters. It offers 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, PLUS a detached 3rd bedroom in the backyard steps away from the main cabin. WiFi speed of 349+ mbps also makes this a great place from which to work remotely.
The living area has a cozy gas fireplace for winter snuggling, and small dining area with seating for 6. Relax while reading a book, watching a movie, or playing a board game the whole family will enjoy. Downstairs living/dining area does not have window coverings.
The original 1930 kitchen cabinets and counters are complimented with a modern refrigerator, microwave, stove/oven, and dishwasher. This fully appointed kitchen is equipped to prepare whatever meals you decide to create. There is also a small 2-person breakfast bar in the kitchen.
Bathroom has heated tile floors, one small vintage sink that is original from 1930, and full-size tub/shower combo with a detachable shower head that we find very helpful when bathing the kids. While the bottom pane of the bathroom window is frosted, there is no window covering on the top half of the bathroom window that looks out to the private, forested backyard.
Master Bedroom:
This room occupies the entire attic.
Guests must be able to comfortably climb and descend a flight of stairs to access this bedroom. *This staircase and railing are not safe for young children.*
There is no door that closes this attic bedroom off from the downstairs of the house.
Queen bed with memory foam mattress at one end of the room.
The other end of the room has a small sitting area with a TV and fold out twin-sized mattress.
There is also WiFi throughout the master bedroom.
2nd Bedroom (Kids’ Bedroom):
Downstairs
Twin over twin bunkbed with memory foam mattresses (please no adults on the top bunk)
No TV provided in bedroom. There is WiFi if you would like to watch television on a personal device.
3rd Bedroom (Detached):
This bedroom is located in the backyard, detached from the main cabin. Offers more privacy than the main cabin, but guests must enter the main cabin to utilize the restroom. This bedroom has electricity and heat, but no A/C.
Queen bed with memory foam mattress
There is a TV connected to internet.
Quiet desk space with strong Wi-Fi bandwidth (so kids can play without disturbing your work calls)
If you wish to have a small outdoor fire in the backyard fire pit, there is firewood available to you on site. (During the hottest, driest weeks of the summer there is often a burn ban in effect. During these times you may still use the propane BBQ on the back deck but campfires are prohibited.)
In the summer we also have an outdoor hammock, giant Jenga, and “Corn Hole” set in the backyard.
Other Amenities:
Towels and linens are provided.
Fast Wi-Fi
Washer / Dryer
Apple TV with Netflix, Prime, Disney+, Hulu
Large selection of family board games

Fun family time
Our family of four really enjoyed staying here! There were lots of games and puzzles for the kids (ages 3 and 7). They loved the mini foosball! The backyard was quiet and peaceful. Sleeping arrangements started off great (kids in the bunk room) but then the three year old wanted to sleep upstairs… hopefully next year theirs won’t be a problem!

Cute cabin in the woods
The cabin was easy to find and perfectly located for Mt. Hood activities. As others have noted it was very clean and when we had a question Mariah responded quickly.

Great Getaway Spot
This cabin was able to accommodate my family in a way that made us feel at home for our first time in Oregon. The location is close enough yet far enough to feel like you're in a private retreat. Would definitely be rebooking on my next trip out!

Great nountain cabin experience
House is easy to get to, and perfect for a ski getaway. Close to the skiing. The house has everything that we needed. Be sure to read the welcome documents to understand the heating and house information. The house is small but worked for our family.

Great Place!
Three things stood out as big positives all related to the bathroom:
1. Adjustable height shower head
2. Fans to de-fog after showering
3. Heated floor, amazing
The cabin itself is cozy with all the essentials, the yard is large, and the location picturesque.
