Plane deinen Aufenthalt in Gaints Castle Game Reserve

The Cathedral peak hotel is located in the heart of the Drakensberg mountains at about 5,000 feet above sea level. Built over 80 years ago, it is a classic old style ‘grand’ hotel with a shop, many areas for sitting (inside and out) a large outside swimming pool with sun loungers, attractive gardens, a large dining room a crazy golf course, and many other amenities. Small tame bushbuck roam the gardens nibbling flowers! There is even a beautiful chapel where many couples had been married returning again after many years! Our room was essentially half a thatched cottage with a comfortable double bed, wardrobe, sofa, desk and chairs together with a big bathroom with a bath and shower. There was a also a terrace to sit outside and enjoy the mountain views. Each day there is a programme of activities form guided walks to horse-riding to bird watching which you can sign up for. We also went walking ourselves using the well marked and signposted patch – notably the 35 minute walk to the Doreen Falls where I swam in the plunge pool. It is a gorgeous place right in the heart of the mountains with great views and the ability to walk right from the hotel. In five days our car just stayed in the car park! However although service was attentive and courteous (coffee free at 10 am and tea on the terrace at 3pm!) we found the food a bit ‘institutional’. There was plenty of choice – but it was often served from large dishes of food and the filter coffee (from the urn in particular) often tasted a bit lukewarm. However this is a superb hotel and a memorable experience.

Die Lage des Hotels ist ganz in der Nähe von Longshan, das Zimmer hat eine sehr gute Aussicht auf den Berg, die Umgebung ist auch sehr angenehm, das Hotel bietet Frühstück, Mittag- und Abendessen, sehr praktisch zum Essen, gute Serviceeinstellung, Schwimmbad, Rasenbowling und andere Fahrten, Sie können auch Spa machen, Preis Nicht teuer, Sie können zum nahe gelegenen Dragons Peak Activity Center gehen, um Canopy-Rolling, Helikopter-Sightseeing, Mountain Buggy und andere besondere Aktivitäten zu erleben. Die Gesamtkosten sind gut, wir haben viele Leute bleiben am Tag des Aufenthalts, im Grunde kommen Einheimische in den Urlaub. Der Nachteil ist, dass das Hotel alt ist und die Zimmerausstattung alt ist.

Their food is teeeew good . It’s cheap ❤️ Environment : They are welcoming. . We had a good time . Since it’s winter we thought it’s gonna be too cold since it’s closer to the mountains. But to our surprise it’s warmer . Activities : They have a brochure that has all the activities that will take place on that day . It has prices and locations of Activities . Rooms : They are neat and our room has nice views
