Plane deinen Aufenthalt in Maninoa

We stayed at Sinalei Reef Resort for a few nights after a horrible experience at the Tanoa Hotel in Apia. Our initial thoughts were to escape the issues we had at the Tanoa Hotel of Dirty Rooms, Rude staff, Poor Food menus and Rude staff. We had looked on line and reviewed Sinalei as a place we could indulge in before flying back to Fiji on our way back to Sydney. How wrong were we to choose Sinalei. Not only was it triple the price per night but fell way below our expectations. Where do I start on the negatives........We arrived, took an hour for them to check us in, lady that checked us in was pleasant but had no idea on time, we were then handed our Key, they had no electronic keys to rooms, we found our way to a beach bungalow, gardens were nicely manicured but the room was DATED, DATED, very old and in need of a refurbishment, for he prices they charge this was not HIGH END, MORE 2 STAR. Ive travelled the world with my wife and this was below par. Im big on fresh crisp linen but am afraid Sinalei had old duvets, old pillows which you could smell the mustiness of the previous guest, pillows were old, mouldy. Sheets old as well as seemed they had Been there for years on end. Open aired tower was full of mosquitos and at night where you had the lights on in the room attached an array of colourful insects including centrerpedes and millipedes. Pool area was lovely and fresh. Bar service at Uncle Harrys bar was poor, had to go up each time and ask the bar staff to serve you a drink, much of the Time they were playing Island music which was fine but if your paying top dollars you would expect decent service. We at all our meals here, not bad but not fresh either. I had the steak and my partner the fish on our first night, both items were not fresh at all. Took nearly two hours for the mains to come and were were one of three couples dining. Next day we had breakfast and I ordered the eggs scrambled, Im pretty sure the eggs were pre powdered eggs as this did not taste like scrambled eggs. On our last day we met the owner as he said he was, my partner food him very sleezy, elderly chap who took more attention to her then our comments and views on how he could better the resort. Overall a nice setting but rooms need a major upgrade, major as it is not 5 start but more 2 star, service needs a major overhaul as does the POOR FOOD. Dated................and NOT WORTH THE MONEY THEY ARE CHARGING.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and make you feel like family. Good choice of food as there are 2 restaurants to eat from. The strung band that entertained us was amazing. The guys had voices of angels. This is a Samoan family owned business, and it was lovely that the head of the family greets everybody individually and makes you feel so welcome. The staff are amazing, nothing is a problem and they have the best cuppacino on the island. One of the baristas is the top in Samoa officially! The room was lovely in the garden view. Beach was amazing! Swept daily! Snorkel gear and kayaks are available to use. A big resort with lots of different kinds of accommodation available. As a solo traveller, I felt safe and cared for, and met some amazing staff and guests. Brilliant for families and kids of all ages. Transport to and from airport. Free parking for hire cars, I recommend this resort!

Ich hatte einen interessanten Start für meinen 5-Nacht-Unterkunft hier. Ankunft im Hotel um 5 Uhr, nach der Buchung für die vorherige Nacht, um den sofortigen Zugang zum Zimmer zu gewährleisten, in ein schmutziges, unmade-up Zimmer zu zeigen. Es dauerte etwa eine Stunde, bis die Haushalter ankommen und das Zimmer zu bauen. Das Personal war sehr entschuldigt sowohl frühe Stunden des Morgens als auch später an diesem Tag. Das Personal ist das beste über dieses Hotel - sie sind freundlich und zwingend. Die Zimmer sind müde, aber sind mit den meisten Samoan Hotels konsistent. Das gelieferte Frühstück war ok, aber Sie müssen früh am Frühstück zu einer Auswahl sein. Das Restaurant selbst war am Sonntag aus Brot und andere Dinge im Menü ausgelaufen. Die Lage war ok, etwa 30 Minuten zu Fuß zum Zentrum, aber beachten Sie die Roaminghunden.

Nur eine Nacht war es, weil wir in Upolu Geschäfte hatten, zu besuchen. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Die Mitarbeiter waren nett und das Zimmer war sauber. Ein paar kleine negative, unser Zimmer war sehr klein und der Kissen selbst in der Kissensache war in braunen Schwitzen bedeckt. Ich konnte nicht auf dem Kissen schlafen. Ich habe es am Morgen an die Mitarbeiter hingewiesen und vorgeschlagen, dass sie die Reinigkeit ihrer Kissen beim Vorbereitung des Zimmers überprüfen. Die Frau, mit der ich gesprochen habe, war sehr dankbar, dass sie das hervorgehoben hat. Insgesamt ist dieses Hotel für die meisten Dinge im Hauptzentrum nützlich.

Das Hotel befindet sich relativ zentraler Lage gegenüber des „Fugalei Fresh Produce Market“. Von der Fugalei-Strasse führt ein ca. 100 Meter langer Schotterweg zu einem Innenhof. Zwei Seiten des dreiseitigen Gebäude-Komplexes werden vom Hotel genutzt, der andere Teil wird von einem Möbelhauses mit dem gleichen Namen als Lager genutzt. Vor den Zimmern im Erdgeschoss gibt es Parkmöglichkeiten, sodass man eher von einem Motel als von einem Hotel ausgehen sollte. Mein Zimmer im ersten Stock war geräumig und bot ausreichend Platz für eine Doppelbett, einen kleinen Schreibtisch mit Stuhl, Ablagemöglichkeit für einen Koffer, Bügelbrett mit Bügeleisen sowie einen Kühlschrank. Das Klimagerät funktionierte einwandfrei. WiFi wird m.E. nicht angeboten. Ebenso kein Frühstück, obwohl auf der Seite eines Buchungsportales ein Bild von einem Frühstücksraum zu sehen ist. Das grosse Manko in meinem Zimmer war das feuchtwarme Badezimmer (Toilette, Handwaschbecken und Dusche), in dem es eine grössere Anzahl von Ameisen anderen Insekten gab. Das Handwaschbecken hatte keinen Verschluss; ein Stöpsel war auch nicht vorhanden. Die Dame an der Rezeption sowie das andere Personal waren freundlich und erledigten ihre Arbeiten professionell.
