Very glad I chose this over the other option in town. The staff here are very welcoming, the view from the hillside is wonderful, and the woods out back offer an opportunity for a bit of birding. Whether you choose first or second floor, you can park on the same level as your room because the building is on a hillside. Room cleanliness: This is the only area where I can't give an excellent rating, but all the important things were very clean. I just suggest that the cleaning person get a duster on a long wand to complete the dusting job including the top of the fridge, microwave, tops of appliances, behind things. Also consider running a couple of cups of plain water through the coffeemaker to remove any residue before brewing your coffee if you want in-room coffee or brought your own tea. Bed: The mattress was comfortable. There were four smaller-than-standard sized pillows made of foam pieces. They were not uncomfortable, just struck me as frugal. Datedness: Nothing felt dated, but the armchair and office chairs are showing their age with peeling, cracking, and flaking faux leather. This did not affect my comfort; it was fine. Bath: I took this trip specifically for access to a bath tub and was pleased. The tub takes some time to fill, but the water was piping hot and the tub was deep enough for a relaxing soak. Breakfast: The breakfast room is bright, clean, and welcoming with a good spread of hot and cold items plus fresh fruit (apples and bananas). There is a waffle maker and warm syrup, a covered buffet tray with sausage patties and cooked eggs, three cold cereals, muffins, and more. Noise: There was a bit of a noise issue with machinery during the day and trucks starting up early, but I could easily have thought to insert ear plugs before retiring. In short, the stay was very pleasant and the room was spacious and comfortable with all the amenities one would expect. I would visit again.
