My partner is a patient at Mayo Clinic, so sometimes we stay in the Dells on our way to Rochester. When I noticed the new Avid Hotel had opened, I thought we'd check it out since I am a loyal IHG member. When we checked in, they told us that the hotel had just opened the prior week, so as you'd expect everything was new and clean. Outside of a little trouble with their check-in system, we had a smooth stay. The rooms are somewhat small, as I believe is consistent with this chain. The TV in the room is big though, and allows for easy casting from your device. There is a small fridge in the room - no coffee maker, but you can access free coffee in the lobby 24-7. Very comfortable bed. Free breakfast consisted of a small grab & go station that included things like granola bars, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit and oatmeal. They also had some hot ready-made breakfast sandwiches (and to my pleasant surprise, a veggie omelet). One small thing I didn't love is the bathroom lights are automatic - so anytime you enter, the light goes on automatically (even in the middle of the night where I'd rather it didn't). Also, if your shower is going a bit long, you might be left in the dark. Otherwise we'd definitely stay here again! It was a few dollars cheaper than the Holiday Inn Express, main difference (in my opinion) being they have a pool. This is also directly next door to a handful of restaurants and just down the road from Kalahari and the AMC theatre.

We just spent the weekend at this hotel and I'm shocked that Choice Hotels even has their brand on it. Our room was beyond repair in some areas --- banged up furniture, disgusting grout in the bathroom, bathroom wallpaper that has to be over 20 years old all peeling off, a toilet that was just barely hanging on. The tv in the room is one of the tiniest things I've seen and most of the regular channels didn't even work. The beds were comfortable. Lighting in the room was minimal and our desk lamp had two burned out bulbs. We called about them, but they never showed up to fix. The room was clean if you didn't look at the corners or beyond surface areas. The outdoor pool area is great for little kids. Easy to see them, great seating areas with plenty of space and on a busy weekend it was half full at the most. Had the service in this hotel been better, I would have seen past their dingy and old rooms, but only one person we encountered even cracked a smile. Everyone else was emotionless, didn't make eye contact or stared right past. It was the strangest thing. They are charging Wisconsin Dells resort prices and not providing even a quarter of the service.

Not a bad stay. Spent a Saturday evening here. Property, front desk, hallways, breakfast area, and swimming were all well maintained and clean. Staff was courteous. I hate the $100 incidential charge, only because they have a sign that states 5 to 7 business days returned. You take my money at the hit on an ”Enter” button on a computer, but cannot give MY money back for days? I realize this issue is much higher than the front desk clerk. Love the Dove soap! My exhaust fan worked perfect in the bathroom. The establishment was quiet throughout the evening and the lighting was ample outside along with the security cameras. I would recommend resetting each camera before winter though. Some look off due to maybe wind and bird nests. Overall, a good stay. Thank you!

Meine 74 Jahre alt und ich besuchten die Baraboo-Gebiet am 12. Juli. Wir haben uns aufgrund ihrer Lage und deswegen, weil ich in ihnen viele Male geblieben und glücklich war, entschieden, im Holiday Inn Express zu bleiben. Am Abend, als ich die Blätter zurückgezogen habe, um ins Bett zu kommen, war es ganz offensichtlich, dass die Blätter nicht geändert worden waren, da es einen Fäzespunkt auf den Blättern gab. Leider konnte ich vom Geruch sagen, was es war. Ich habe den Vordertafel kontaktiert und die Hausbetreiber gebeten, saubere Blätter zu bringen und auch jemanden vom Vordertafel gebeten, sich selbst zu sehen. Sie brachten saubere Blätter, aber ich war noch besorgt. Sie boten, unsere Zimmer zu ändern. Wir haben alles ins neue Zimmer packt und es scheint sauberer zu sein und es gab keine Probleme mit den Blättern. Wenn ich zu Hause gewesen wäre, hätte ich nach Hause gefahren und fahren, aber es war spät. Ich hätte die Person von der Hauspflege gerne mehr Sorgen über den Fehler zeigen. Ich bin sicher, dass Hotels viele Leute versuchen, ihren Weg in einen Freinachtsurlaub zu betrügen. Das war nicht der Fall mit uns.

This hotel is brand new and very pleasant. The pool and gym were nice. I REALLY appreciated the breakfast because it was gluten free and catered to me. I enjoyed the egg white fritatas and chicken sausage. There were also other options such as pancakes, yogurt, fruit and oatmeal. The room was lovely. Not a big deal but the shampoo was empty. Since I just stayed one night, I used my own but I have this issue with Hilton hotels where the amenities are not refilled. We would definitely stay here again.
