Wir haben 4 Nächte im Standard-Bungalow verbracht, nachdem wir von Chiang Mai genug hatten. Das Resort ist sehr ruhig gelegen und wirklich schön. Wenn man sich bewusst ist, dass im nahen Umfeld nicht all zu viel zu erkunden ist, gibt es nichts auszusetzen. Fußläufig gibt es noch 2 Cafes/Restaurants; der Ort ist knappe 2 km entfernt. Allerdings muss man das Resort auch nicht verlassen: kurz nach dem Frühstück (8 - 10 Uhr) öffnet das Restaurant (11 - 21 Uhr). Eine Masseurin kommt für 350 Baht/h ins Resort und der örtliche Rollerverleih ”liefert” den Roller ebenfalls ins Resort. Der ist mit 350 Baht/Tag nicht ganz billig, aber man hat einen guten Service und muss nur 1000 Baht als Pfand hinterlegen (keinen Pass). Unser Bungalow war geräumig und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, man kann es sich wirklich bequem machen. Allerdings verbringt man die meiste Zeit wahrscheinlich auf der eigenen Terrasse oder am Pool. Hervorzuheben ist außerdem Michas Hilfsbereitschaft. Er hat sich um alles gekümmert und z.B. unseren einzigen echten Kritikpunkt, dass es im Bad kein Moskitonetz gab, kurzerhand behoben. Auch ansonsten war die Kommunikation mit ihm super und wir haben einige Tipps bekommen. Insgesamt sind wir sehr glücklich mit unserem Aufenthalt und sollten wir nochmal in die Gegend kommen, schauen wir bestimmt wieder vorbei.

3302oldenburgWir sind als Paar auf einer sechsmonatigen Reise durch Asien unterwegs. Nach dem Trubel in Bangkok suchten wir Erholung für einige Tage in einer schönen Anlage mit Pool. Die sehr positiven Bewertungen haben uns auf die Papai Country Lodge in der Nähe von Chiang Mai aufmerksam gemacht. Und, wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Chalets sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Anlage liegt in einem mindestens 2 Hektar großen tropischen Park, alles ist sehr idyllisch angelegt und top gepflegt. Der Pool hat eine Größe, dass man darin richtig Bahnen schwimmen kann. Das war uns wichtig! Morgens frühstückt man im Restaurant über einem Fluss und genießt die tolle Natur und sieht den Schmetterlingen und Vögel zu. Das Frühstück ist abwechslungsreich, reichhaltig und sehr lecker. Die Eier am Morgen wurden jeden Tag in einer anderen Variation serviert. Der Kaffee am Morgen wird in einer richtigen Espresso-Maschine zubereitet. Wir hatten ein kleines Chalet gebucht. Da im November wenig los war, hat uns der Besitzer ohne Mehrkosten ein Upgrade auf eine der Villen angeboten. Die Betten waren im übrigen für thailändische Verhältnisse bequem! Die Besitzerin hatte wohl einige Kritiken von europäischen Touristen zur Härte der Betten gelesen und sofort reagiert. Wir wurden gefragt, ob der Komfort der Betten jetzt gut ist. Das konnten wir bestätigen. Die Anlage verfügt über ein kleines, unmittelbar am Fluss gelegenes Restaurant, in dem wir auch zu Abend gegessen haben. Das Restaurant bietet thailändisches, sehr geschmackvolles Essen zu normalen Preisen an. Die Umgebung bietet sich für tolle Ausflüge u. a. mit dem Fahrrad an, die man kostenfrei leihen kann. Für Ruhesuchende und Erholungsbedürftige, die einige Tage abschalten möchten, ist dies genau der richtige Ort! Von den vielen Anlage, die wir bisher kennen lernen durften, ist die Papai Country Lodge die Top Adresse, wenn man schöne Natur mit einem gewissen Luxus und tolle ehrliche Gastfreundschaft erleben möchte. Wir kommen sicherlich wieder.
