I did not expect to be so disappointed with my night in this guest house when I met the owner who was my faith very friendly. But for that price, the service was really horrible. A bed as hard as a stone bench, pillows surely found in Emmaus. The water of the cumulus which is connected on the three rooms of the house so huge variation of pressure and temperature when taking a shower/ bath. The room was infested with mosquitoes, I spent all my evening and a large part of my night to track pests because I am allergic to it, I warned the owner who gave me an anti mosquito bomb before telling me that there were no mosquitoes in the house (Something that is false because having lunch with other guests they lived the same night and were very disappointed. They did not understand the notes of the establishment and made fun of those who had left such lies). The soundproofing is horrible also we hear the owner who watches the TV downstairs, the other rooms but also the dogs of the neighbors who screamed all night and cherry on the cake, wake up at seven o'clock by the parakeets of the owner just below the room plus the TV that did not work. A little ashamed to ask for a positive review when you have such a ridiculous establishment that only serves to catch tourists who want a typical homestay stay instead of the coldness of a hotel. Let’s talk about breakfast, not fruit juice but a brick of ice tea coming out of the lidl, which products mark see below. All in all, when the owner of the establishment accepted us and advised us on the visits to be made the next day, it was chiquement apprété with a set of jewel worth in the 1000/ 1500 euros. A bit ridiculous such a gap between the appearance of the person and the quality of service offered for the three rooms. For the same price, I would have had access to a 4-star hotel with a buffet breakfast and the calm we would have liked to have seen the standing of your slum. Thank you however for the advice, only thing to remember from this stay, the talent of tourist guide of our host but absolutely not to receive. To avoid if you wish a good night’s sleep and a good breakfast. When we allow ourselves to beg for a review we must be irreproachable, otherwise we are ridiculous. If I wasn’t a rat I would have asked for a refund:)

Nachdem wir in anderen Quinta in Portugal geschlafen haben, warten wir auf ein Hotel etwas höher, also etwas enttäuscht. Es ist eher ein Hotelzimmer, 2 oder 3 Epis Gîte de France, wenn Sie wissen: so komfortable und schön, aber einfach. Und hier, ohne die Bequemlichkeit eines Hotelzimmers. Wir waren enttäuscht von der Aufnahme: Es war schwer, den Ort zu finden (kein Aufstiegs- und ein ganz kleines Panel vor dem Eingang), man ruft auf das Portal, Wir fahren zweimal um das Haus, bevor wir jemanden wechseln. Sie spricht Französisch und Englisch, das ist gut, wir fahren den Zimmerschlüssel und ein altes Fotofoto mit der Liste der nahe gelegenen Restaurants und Orte, die zu besuchen sind, Wir haben den Frühstückszeitpunkt mit der Veranda angezeigt, und das ist alles. Und beim Auschecken war es noch einfacher: Wir konnten niemand finden, also haben wir den Schlüssel hinterlassen und sind weg. - es ist auf dem Land, also ruhig und nicht zu weit (obligatorisches Auto) zu besuchen Sintra - schöne Terrasse mit nicht erwärmtem Pool - Kühlschrank in freiem Zugang in der Veranda: auf Vertrauen basiert, Sie nehmen Getränke und bezahlen in der Schachtel oder beim Abgang - das Frühstückspersonal war sehr hilfreich MINDEST: - offen einzeln, also 4-5km Auto, bevor Sie etwas zu essen finden - komfortable Betten, aber scharfe Zimmer und Badezimmer, und Sehr nass: Unsere Handtücher sind in 2 Tagen geschwürt - kein verrücktes Frühstück: für ein Hotelzimmer warten wir besser WARNUNG, wenn Sie das Palast von Sintra besuchen, lesen Sie die Bewertungen und Ratschläge von TripAdvisor vor, Denn es ist wirklich von der Welt bewaffnet (der Schreck!), also ist es besser, sich zu organisieren.

We had a great time during our 5 night stay at the Vila Gale Sintra. I’ll start with the pros of the resort. The property itself is beautiful. The pools, the scenery around the hotel are amazing. The family room layout was great for us. It was essentially what appeared to be what used to be two rooms combined into one. The large balcony was great for sitting out at night. The sunset was spectacular from our room. The kids activities were great as my kids got to enjoy the carousel, playground and trampoline park. Be aware though that they only open these at certain times throughout the day. The breakfast was great and had a ton of selections. There were a few cons, the first was the buffet dinner. It was quite expensive at 29 euros per person and the options werent great. They only really had one meat and one fish that they were cooking and there was a line to wait in if you wanted it. We only ate dinner there the first night. The room was partially refurbished. The carpet looked older and the sliding door within the room kept coming off the tracks. And the bathroom was a little odd in that the vanity was open to the rest of the room. So if someone needed to use the lights for it they would light potentially wake up the person in the room if they were sleeping. Then the WiFi, while it worked well for the most part, kept having to reconnect to the network. This happened on both my phone and iPad several times each day while I was there. The location of the hotel has its pluses and minuses. It is a quiet resort away from the city of Sintra. And it’s also located in a place that makes it easy to get to the beach and Colares. But there isn’t anything else right around the hotel so you need to rent a car or take an Uber to get around. We took and Uber and it did work pretty well. Nothing is within walking distance and the nearest bus stop is a 20-30 minute walk away.

We stayed here after we couldn’t find anything in Sintra with parking. Owner very helpful but the common room is furnished with old furniture so smells very musty. We were taken downstairs to our room as we descended the stairs the damp smell started. The room was big but soooo damp smelling I didn’t unpack for fear of everything smelling. The bed was comfy but during the night I could feel my pyjamas were absorbing the wetness of the damp. I opened windows but the whole room was just damp , the shower is in the room just open so no privacy but the towels smelt damp so I didn’t bother. Can’t wait to get to my next hotel to shower and get rid of the smell. Plug ins have been used to try and mask the smell but this makes it worse.

Quiet and super comfortable bed & room with a Scandi touch. Lovely abundant breakfast and great care for every detail, including dietary requirements. The honesty basket with wine and treats is very cute - they close reception at 10pm at the moment. Great for a proper solo/couple switch off and rest from travels & the big city! Loved the fact there’s no TV anywhere and the WIFi is fast. I’d chose it again for remote working in the winter sun with the ocean right there. The cliff walks are abundant, great value in the local restaurants (I’ve been to Água e Sal three days in a row!!) and of course fascinating Sintra nearby. If you’re looking for scenic drives by the ocean and exploring the region, yes it’s best to have a car, but for a proper switch off, it’s fine with bus and train also - the staff knows it all. Well worth it! 😊

Loved this bed & breakfast!. Rooms were well designed with balconies overlooking the ocean. Breakfast was reserved when you arrived and in the morning it was ready when you arrived to the dining room. The staff was very lovely and helpful. This B&B is perfect place to stay for a visit to Sintra and the surrounding areas. It is located in a small town with a great restaurant by the sea. It can get quite windy with winds coming from the sea in the morning and evenings - bring a jacket! Keep in mind that the chalet does not have a restaurant for lunch or dinner. It is a lovely upscale B&B. I highly recommend it.

Myself and my 4 year old son stayed here for a weekend, and it was fantastic! We received excellent communication from the front desk via email as we arrived after check in, which meant we could get straight up to our room upon arrival. It's in a great location, and has modern, clean, fresh décor and super friendly staff. The bed was comfortable, bathroom spacious and A/C. There was plenty of extra bedding in the cupboards too which meant you could change the sheet for a duvet if the weather suddenly changed. The breakfast was a good price, and great continental selection; my son ate everything in sight, and they even went above and beyond to make him pancakes as a treat! There was an honesty bar available throughout the day too for any quick snacks or drinks which was reasonably priced. There's a local grocery shop, pharmacy, café and restaurants all 5mins walk away too which is so useful when travelling with children. Sintra itself was beautiful, my son loved the views, visiting Quinta da Regaleira and spotting the 'castles!' on top of the hills. Do be aware Sintra has a micro climate so the weather can be breezy and cooler than expected! Thank you to all the staff and friendly guests for making us feel so at home, and 100% recommend this lovely hotel.

Beautiful property! Was a treat to stay here. We were in a separate building from the palace but just adjacent and easily accessible to the main building for breakfast and use of swimming pool. The staff were very nice and helpful, especially Maria during our stay. She gave us a tour of the property, helped us with dining plans etc. We didn’t make it to the Fado show but the magician was a big hit with my family. The room was large and very comfortable. A curtain needed to be pulled while showering as it was all in the same space, but that didn’t bother us. The location was great as you could walk into town and several times we walked back from the palaces back to the hotel.
