This apart-hotel complex is absolutely beautiful, flowering bushes everywhere with a lovely scent. Our apartment was large and airy and had a great private terrace on the first floor (2nd floor if you’re North American). It really was a home from home with a full dining area with table and chairs and lounge area with sofa, soft rug and tv. The main double bedroom was upstairs with an anteroom having a sofa/pull out bed for children or guests 3&4. Lots of storage in the bedroom but there was a distinct lack of hangers in the wardrobe but loads of drawer space. The kitchen is adequate enough for simple meals (no oven) with a twin hob and microwave, kettle and toaster, and a selection of pots and pans. We managed really well. The hotel provides breakfast 8am - 10am if you want it at 12euros per person. We didn’t try this option. Housekeeping are amazing and come every day! Everything is clean and beds are made. Towels can be changed daily if you like. For a self-catering holiday we found that a lot was provided in the apartment for us: washing up liquid, washing up sponge, washing up cloth and a tea towel. These are replenished and changed as needed. There is also toilet roll, shower gel and hand wash provided in the bathroom which was lovely - again, replenished when needed or on request. The complex gardens are beautiful and well-tended. The pool looked lovely and well-cared for, however we didn’t try it out. There seems to be a hot tub in a wooden building off the pool area - we took a look but it was grubby and the water had floating debris. I’m sure they would have sorted it out if we had asked, but we were out and about discovering the island every day. You definitely need to hire a car for the duration of your stay here as there isn’t any bus route nearby and taxis would be very expensive to get around the island. HANDY TIP: If you’re picking up your hire car on landing at the airport and driving to Quinta da Santana - to get into the complex there is an electronic gate that requires a remote control. When you first arrive, drive past the big metal gate and find the next smaller (pedestrian) gate. Put the hazard lights on in the car and get out to ring the bell. This alerts reception who will come and open the gate for you or just give you a remote straight away so you can drive into the complex. We had a horrendous time of looking and looking and going around and around the roads trying to find the entrance!! We didn’t know about the need to ring the pedestrian gate bell (face palm!) The reception staff are lovely and very accommodating and speak English very well. I’m not sure what other languages they can speak. The area that Quinta da Santana is situated in is the one fly in the ointment….it seems really run down and the road they are situated on is all full of industrial buildings and commercial businesses. Further exploration within Santana uncovers the grubbier side of agricultural life with its local working class community.

Das schönste Hotel der Azoren! Wunderschönes Hotel mit einer tollen Architektur, super Personal und eine perfekte Lage. Alles ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet und das Personal verzaubert einem dem Aufenthalt. Die Bar und das Frühstück sind super lecker. Das Hotel liegt direkt am schönsten Strand von São Miguel und in direkter Umgebung befinden sich tolle Cafes und Restaurants. Das Zimmer selbst war großzügig und hatte viele kleine Extras. 100% Weiterempfehlung. Ein kleines Paradies. Einziges Manko: ist das Service-Team beim Abendessen.

Wir haben 5 Nächte in diesem Hotel verbracht. Gehen wir eins nach dem anderen. Zimmer: Es gab keine Abgasanlage in der Toilette. Der Geruch der Bettwäsche war seit dem ersten Tag schrecklich. Das Design war schön. Reinigungsservice war ein Witz... Wir mussten bis zu dreimal nachfragen, um das Zimmer zu machen... Jeder Tag war ein Drama, wenn man wusste, wann es fertig war. Frühstück: Ein 5 Sterne Hotel hat ein so schlechtes Frühstück nicht verdient. Orangensaft war nicht einmal frisch. Spanischer Schinken war schrecklich (wirklich schlechte Qualität und Bäckerei ... einfach sprachlos) Restaurant: Extrem kurze Auswahl an Gerichten. Auch hier nicht auf dem erwarteten Niveau eines 5-Sterne-Hotels. Ausstattung: Viele Zimmer waren noch nicht fertig und noch nicht fertig gebaut. Umgebung ist echt hässlich.... Zusätzliche Kommentare: Wir haben viele Paare und Familien gesehen, die an der Rezeption gebucht hatten und kein Zimmer verfügbar war ... Das Hotel bot andere Zimmer in anderen Hotels in 17 km Entfernung an! ! Wir gingen zum Pool (Billard) und es gab eine Undichtigkeit an der Decke... Ein neues Hotel mit Undichtigkeit??? Zusammenfassend, das Beste an diesem Hotel war das Personal. . . Die Armen, die versucht haben, alle Brände zu ”löschen”, die vom Hotel- und Hotelmanagement verursacht wurden. Besonders das Personal an der Rezeption: Thx für Ihr Bestes! Ich biete 3/5 Sterne, weil ich glauben möchte, dass sie all diese Probleme in kurzer Zeit beheben werden und bis dahin gut sein wird.

Das Hotel ist sehr ruhig gelegen direkt am Meer. Ausstattung insgesamt gut. Das SPA ist gut aber die Behandlungsräume sind direkt neben dem Hallenbad. Es kann also auch etwas laut werden. Frühstück ist kein in Ordnung aber auch mehr nicht... Auch der Frühstücksraum ist eher eine Mensa. Zimmer war auch gut. Ausreichend Platz im Doppelzimmer. Bett war ein kingsize Bett mit einer sehr großen Bettdecke. Insgesamt war es sauber und auch die Hygieneartikel lagen im Bad. Hatte mittags zwei Mal im Hotel gegessen. Essen war gut auch die Preise waren ok.

Tolle Lage mit viel Potenzial, aber noch viel Verbesserungsbedarf!! 1 - Unser Aufenthalt dauerte 3 Nächte und keiner der Tage wurde gereinigt, wir bekamen nur neue Handtücher, weil wir an der Rezeption darum gebeten hatten, es gab keine Pflegeprodukte, Shampoo, Duschgel, wir mussten sie kaufen, weil wir sie nicht mitgenommen hatten auf dem Flug; 2 - Am Tag des Check-outs wurden wir vor 8:30 Uhr geweckt, um herauszufinden, wann wir abreisen würden, da der Check-out erst um 11:00 Uhr möglich war. 3 - Kurz darauf hörten wir das Geräusch der Tür, die sich öffnete, und als wir nachschauten, war es bereits der nächste Gast, der früher einchecken durfte. Wir waren alle erstaunt über die Situation ... 4 - Die Rezeption ist an Feiertagen geschlossen und am Wochenende, sodass wir während unseres Aufenthalts nur einen Tag lang Kontakt zu jemandem hatten!

I stayed at DoubleTree Lagoa Azores on a solo trip, and breakfast at Frondoso quickly became my favorite part of the day. The variety was amazing—fresh pastries, tropical fruits, and even made-to-order eggs. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff were so welcoming and attentive, always checking in to make sure I had everything I needed. The peaceful atmosphere, with lots of natural light, made it the perfect spot to relax and plan my day of exploring. If you’re staying at the hotel, don’t miss breakfast at Frondoso—it’s a must!

Very simple Hotel close to the Hospitalm The rooms were tidy and clean. 10 min walk from the Hospital Internacional and very close to the harbour. However they only have stairs to go up to the first floor. No elevator. Front door service was supposed to be open full day but it was only open in the morning. However, there is a phone number you can call were they will acomodate your needs eficiently. The inside of the building is beautiful. Breakfast is very poor and low quality food. Good place to stay if you are travelling for a hospital visit, but I wouldn't count on breakfast...

Los apartamentos son grandes muy completos. Se dividen en cocina, con sala abierta, baño y dormitorio. La cocina tienen microondas, tostadora y demás electrodomésticos, incluso lavavajillas. El dormitorio esta bien, y la cama es genial. Baño perfecto, uno de los apartamentos lo tiene adaptado el número 3. Buena salita y sofa. El entorno es perfecto, hay piscina y restaurante. En el restaurante no se puede desayunar, pero hay un continente a 3 minutos en coche. Hay parking gratuito. La zona de piscina bonita y tranquila. Esta a 3 minutos de la carretera principal. Ferdinando es muy amable. El restaurante es acogedor, buen balado y vino local blanco espectacular. Muy recomendable. Por poner un pero, mejoraría la limpieza un poco más. Volvería 100%
