This Pousada is located in an old Monastery. The owners have done a super job of creating a modern up to date hotel out of what was a former Monastery. The conversion from Monastery to Hotel had been tastefully and sympathetically done. This Pousada is a bit remote to get to and in a small town that has two cafe bars. We arrived here on a Sunday when the two local cafe bars were closed leaving us with no alternative but to dine an the Pousada restaurant. The meal was acceptable but a bit expensive for what it was. On arrival it is necessary to check in at Reception which is on the first floor. Ordinarily this would not be a problem but it is a problem when 30 or so guests are trying to check in at the same time with one small lift only available for the guests and their luggage. It took us half an hour to reach our room. Our bedroom was far too small to accommodate two adult guests. There was nowhere to leave a suitcase open which most touring guests living out of a suitcase need to do. Lighting In the bedroom was a waste of space. Impossible to read a book in bed. Our bedroom was badly designed. The bathroom door opens out on to the wardrobe door and bumps into the person using the wardrobe. The rail in the wardrobe is too high to be used with ease. You need to be a Giant to reach the coat hanger hooks. There were no instructions as to how to work the air conditioning. There were no instructions as to how to work the television. In the bathroom there is a notice from the hotel asking guests to save water. The hotel could lead by example and provide a plug for the wash hand basin. The wash hand basin plug was noticeably missing. This is because the wash hand basin did not have an over flow pipe. Within a few seconds the basin would fill with water and cause a flood. Whoever thought of installing a hotel wash hand basin that you could not use properly ought to be reprimanded. This hotel need to take out all the existing plug less wash hand basins and replace them with new wash hand basins with plugs and overflows. The cost should be recovered from the person who designed such stupid plug less wash hand basins. The one good thing about this hotel is the fact that the Toaster at Breakfast did work.

Dieses Hotel enttäuscht nie. Ich, mein Mann und meine Tochter, die 23 Monate alt ist, ist bereits das dritte Mal, dass wir Maria da Fonte besuchen und lieben! Es hat ein super freundliches, verfügbares und aufmerksames Personal. Die Einrichtungen sind komfortabel und sehr sauber. Das Essen ist nur wunderbar, es lohnt sich, im Hotel Restaurant zu essen!! Es ist ein Ort, wo ich hoffe, ich kann zurück 😊

Nous sommes venu en famille (2 adultes et 2 enfants 3 et 5ans) début juillet 2023, la personne à l'accueil n'a fait aucun effort pour échanger avec nous. Parlant français et un peu portugais, celle ci n'a même pas essayé de communiquer doucement avec nous ou même de trouver des moyens pour nous expliquer les choses. De plus, l'impression d'être pris de haut ou même de le déranger. Une fois la chambre payé pour 4 personnes, nous sommes monté et surprise un seul lit double pour 4 dans une petite chambre. Nous sommes redescendu à l'accueil et la solution apporter étais de rajouter un petit lit d'appoint dans la chambre déjà petite. Verdict nous avons pris nos bagage et sommes partis. Je retiens un mauvais accueil, aucun effort de la personne à l'accueil pour Communiquer avec nous un prix excessif pour une petite chambre Je ne retournerai plus dans cet hôtel.

Sehr schöne Lage. Sehr schöner Blick. Sehr schönes Frühstück und die Zimmer haben eine gute Größe. Bett sehr komfortabel und verfügt über Klimaanlage. Das Personal ist nett, aber nicht so aufmerksam, wie sie in einem 4 Start-Hotel sein sollten, und deshalb habe ich nicht ein 5. Sie wussten nicht, dass wir das Zimmer online bezahlt, bevor die Eincheckung, und fragten, um wieder zu bezahlen, ohne zum Beispiel zu prüfen. Sie haben Spielraum, und Bar, aber beide waren nicht offen und die Bar hatte keine zu servieren, es scheint, dass geschlossen.

Un acierto o una suerte haber elegido este hotel para una visita rápida a Braga puesto que el propio hotel está situado en pleno monumento a visitar (bom Jesús do monte) y muy cerca de otro punto de interés (basílica de sameiro) donde pudimos disfrutar de un atardecer de esos épicos (gracias a la recomendación de la recepcionista del hotel). El hotel es antiguo y seguro le vendría bien un repaso, pero está limpio, es bonito y está muy buen situado. Razones de sobra para darle una muy buena valoración.

Great views. The location alone makes it 4 or 5 stars. Right next to Bom Jesus, lots of walking trails, garden, children's park , outdoor exercise equipment, very small but cute and romantic lake with boat rentals in walking vicinity. Note, you have to go thru security gate to access parking area of all 3 or 4 hotels in same area. The hotel is a refurbished older boutique style hotel, which we loved. Clean, comfortable, quiet and room darkening shutters.
