1. 駅からのアクセス咲花駅から「咲花温泉」の看板に従って歩くこと5分ほど。7~8軒の旅館が道に沿って並んでおり、碧水荘はその一番奥にありました。途中に、閉館した旅館も数軒ありました。 2. 部屋「禁煙者」にとっては要注意です。チェックインを済ませ、若い女性スタッフに部屋まで案内されましたが、階段が多いにもかかわらず、「荷物をお持ちしましょうか」でもなく、おもてなしはイマイチの印象。通された部屋は、タバコの臭いがとても強くてその場で気持ちが悪くなったため、臭わない部屋をその場でリクエストし、部屋を変えてもらいました。変更後の部屋は、タバコの臭いこそしませんでしたが、テーブルの上には吸い殻入れが置いてありました。おそらく、この旅館には、「禁煙」の部屋は存在しないのではないかと思いました。部屋からの眺望は良く、阿賀野川がすぐ前に見えます。長い廊下でつながり、歩くとミシミシいう、古さと昭和レトロを感じる建屋でした。部屋の清浄度はイマイチ。気にはならない程度ですが、長い毛髪が畳に落ちていたり、家具には埃が堆積している箇所があったり。トイレは、洗浄機付きでした。 2. お風呂内湯の浴槽は2つに区切られていて、片方は熱めでもう片方は温めです。広さは各々の浴槽に2人が入れるコンパクトなサイズです。お湯には硫黄臭があります。ちなみに、タオルについた硫黄臭は、後で洗濯しても消えませんでした。露天風呂は、貸し切り専用（45分間）で、チェックインした順に自分で時間帯を指定できます。サイズは10人あまり入れそうな広さでした。 3. 食事夕食は、10品あまりでとても美味しかったです。少量ですが蟹も出ました。朝食も美味しく、充実していました。食事に携わるスタッフは皆さん親切でした。 4. 看板ネコ「チョコ」と言う名前の可愛いネコがフロント周辺にいて、癒やしてくれます。
