We have just returned (27 Sept - 4 Oct 2023) from the New Market Holidays 8 day Lake Como and Bernina Express tour and are absolutely thrilled with the experience we have just had. Our Tour director Florea Aleandru Gabriel (Alex) met us at the airport and transfered us to our hotel - The Hotel Lario. Alex promised to entertain us and impart his knowledge with us - he did not disappoint, the local and national knowledge he was able to share with us was incredible, and nothing was ever too much trouble for him. He is a real credit to New Market Holiday and himself. The Hotel Lario is a family run hotel that was clean and simple, exactly what was needed for our base. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and our room, facing the mountains was quiet and cool despite the unexpected heat. The staff are friendly and always happy to help The food was incredible, it was traditional Italian Holiday food (pasta, meat, potatoes etc) and was always very tasty. We had a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains and a dessert each day for dinner as part of our package. The breakfast was a good continental selection of pastries, fresh fruit, eggs etc. The outside seating are was lovely in the early morning and evening to watch the sun and moon rise over the mountains. The roads from the hotel to the towns are narrow but once we found our confidence walking them was not a problem at all. We used the public boat and bus service on our free days and this was simple and convenient. Taking the slow boat down the Lake to Como is just beautiful and give a different perspective to this stunning area.

Dies war wirklich ein außergewöhnlicher Ort. Literalmente direkt am See, Lage konnte nicht besser sein. Auch in der Nähe von einigen Geschäften und Restaurants in beiden Richtungen entlang der Seestraße. Das schöne Zimmer war sehr geräumig und das Badezimmer war fast so groß. Wir hatten Glück, ein Eckeszimmer mit zwei Balkonen zu bekommen. Tipp: Geben Sie ein Zimmer mit einem Balkon! Das Hotel ist auch auf einer ziemlich besetzten Straße. Der Verkehr hat uns überhaupt nicht beunruhigt, aber für leichte Schlafer könnte es laut sein. Wir haben auch das Restaurant am Abend versucht. Das Essen und der Service waren sowohl ausgezeichnet, Top-Notch. Das Frühstück war auch sehr gut, nicht eine große Auswahl, sondern mit qualitativ hochwertigen Produkten. Das Personal war auch sehr freundlich. Wir würden sicher zurückkommen!

Das Hotel Bazzoni hat eine wundervolle Lage, einen sehr guten Blick von den Balkonen der Zimmer auf den Comer See und einen terrassenförmig angelegten Garten, der den Hügel hinauf führt und über mehrere Swimmingpools und Bars verfügt. Inklusive Frühstück und Abendessen vom Buffet, was gut war. Die Bar im Erdgeschoss ist auch atemberaubend. Auf der negativen Seite, die Dinge über das Hotel sind zu wünschen übrig. Als wir ankamen, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass es ausgebucht war und unsere Reservierung an das Schwesterhotel Britannia (und viel billiger) weiter unten übertragen worden war. Wir wurden abgenommen, um es zu sehen, aber das Zimmer war feucht und böse, nach einem harten Streit einigten sie sich darauf, uns in Bazzoni wieder aufzunehmen. Wir wurden auch am letzten Tag gejagt, um sofort auszuchecken - unsere Trip.com-Buchung war für den Check-out um 11 Uhr, aber wir bekamen einen Anruf um 10.30 Uhr, der uns mitteilte, dass dies auf 10 Uhr vorverlegt worden war und wir sofort auschecken mussten, wie sie es getan hatten. ** bei Ankunft an diesem Tag. Das Zimmer hatte auch kein Wasser, Kaffee- / Teezubereiter und Hausschuhe, und alles zusätzliche ist kostenpflichtig - einschließlich 5 EUR für eine zusätzliche Schlüsselkarte (nicht erstattbar ...) und 2 EUR für einen Krug Wasser zum Abendessen. Alles in allem würde ich dieses Hotel in Zukunft meiden - aber wenn Sie es wählen, sind Sie bereit, für das zu streiten, wofür Sie bereits bezahlt haben.

A little gem of a find! Beautiful, traditional, authentic, clean, small hotel with the most incredible views. The setting is just stunning, whether relaxing by the wonderful pool or sitting in their garden area or eating breakfast/lunch/dinner. It is very peaceful and relaxing. The food was very good indeed. Very good spread for breakfast with freshly cooked eggs to order. 4 course dinner fantastic. Aperol Spritz just perfect! Run by a very hardworking, friendly, unassuming, quiet family. They even ironed my husband's very creased shirt before we attended a wedding at Villa del balbianello! Really appreciated. It's situated higher up, hence those views, so a bit of a walk back from the lake. Took us 15 mins down, lovely walk. Maybe 30 mins up...We arranged taxis for when we headed down in the evening....couldn't do the walk in heels! We were thrilled with this find. We have recommended to all our friends & family who can't believe the view in our pics! We are also planning on returning with our young children. Thank you.
