Average place. A few things to feedback. 1. Room heater not all functioning. For cold weather this is not good. 2. Kitchen provides dish detergent but no sponge for washing. Hope in future can provide. 3. TV only has one working channel. Not sure why there is a need to have a blue Ray dvd player as people doesn't usually travel with dvd. Hope this can improve. 4. Laundry prices varies across whoever is doing reception. We asked the night we arrived and it was 2000 including drying. Next morning we bring over the price is 3000 including drying. Overall stay comfort wise average. Location is good though as we got to see aurora borralis within 100m of the cottage.

Overall we loved our stay at Grimsborgir, but I would like to begin by mentioning a few aspects that can be improved. When we arrived the room seemed dusty, as if not used by other guests for a long time and then not freshened up before we arrived. This improved after the first night. The cleaning staff also made a few mistakes like taking towels without replacing them and forgetting items like wiping cloths or cleaning sprays in random places - this happened on 3 out of 6 days. Also the design of the double bed was a bit minimalistic - it did not have a headboard - compared to other double beds from less expensive rooms in your hotel this is a mild disappointment. Overall we were very happy with our stay in your hotel - we had everything we needed and we would gladly stay with you again. I just have one question which I would be very grateful if you could answer me. What kind of mattress did the double bed have? We found it to be extremely pleasant to sleep on and I would like to buy one if you could tell me where from. Die Unterkunft ist großartig. Groß, sauber, schön eingerichtet. Alles, was man für einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt braucht, ist vorhanden. Parkplätze befinden sich direkt vor dem Haus, es gibt mehr als genug. Das Gästehaus ist sehr gut gelegen. Es liegt nah am Thingvellir Nationalpark, wo man Wasserfälle, heiße Quellen und Geysire bewundern kann. 100 Meter vom Gästehaus entfernt, gibt es eine sehr schöne, moderne Therme. Nach einem perfekten Tag kann man dort herrlich entspannen. Ein Supermarkt und eine Tankstelle sind keine 100 Meter entfernt. Im nahegelegenen Hostel gibt es super Pizza (und mehr) und morgens Frühstück. Alexander und Kristófer sind sehr gute Gastgeber. Sie sind jederzeit erreichbar und haben jeden Tag frische Handtücher gebracht und die Betten gemacht. Wir waren zu dritt als Familie dort (mein Mann, ich und mein zehn Jahre alter Sohn) und wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen! Vielen Dank lieber Alexander, vielen Dank lieber Kristófer.

Overall really good hotel. Perfect spot to see all the stops in the Golden Circle. The hotel has modern updates. We stayed in a family room which was nice to have twin beds for the kids although everyone is in essentially the same room. The room was always warm even though we kept the windows open and it was cool outside. Bathroom window could have used a shade as it was quite bright in there in the middle of the night in the summer. Breakfast was good, mostly a continental-style breakfast, but was overpriced for what it was (even for Iceland).

We had a nice night at Country Dream. Our room although not large, was comfortable. we had 1 bedroom and a pull out sofa.... but wait.... The pull out sofa was not like any normal one where you have to pull everything off and have a bar in your back, it was a case of simply pulling a cord and the whole sofa turned upside down into a bed that was as comfortable as the bed in the bedroom. It took 20 seconds to pull out the bed and 20 seconds to put it back the next morning. The room had a small kitchenette which was adequate for cooking a simple meal. There was also a hot tub available to use with our room. As a bonus, we were invited to go into the stable to visit the owner's very friendly Icelandic horses. He also organised for a beautiful Icelandic Sheepdog to come and visit us. Country Dream is on a horse farm about 5 - 15 minutes drive from the main road between Geysir and Selfoss depending on the conditions. In the right conditions, it would give a great opportunity to see the Northern lights. If you are staying here in winter, I recommend that you ask your rental car company to provide you with a car with metal beads (studs) in the tyres as the road was very icy when we left due to rainfall and freezing temperatures.
