A lovely old building well situated on the waterfront with lovely views from the terrace. A easy walk from the ferry to the hotel, and a short stroll to restaurants and the old town. We booked a standard room for 3 nights but in retrospect I recommend a superior room for a better experience. There is no elevator and level 1 is actually offices so level 2 is really 3 floors up. There are 4 rooms on this level that have the bed on a mezzanine above the bathroom, so another internal flight of stairs. These rooms, while they have a window it is elevated with a long drawstring for the curtains which cannot be reached to adjust and you cannot see out unless standing on the mezzanine. Downstairs only has a little port hole. Spacious enough but not ideal. We had breakfast included and the setting is beautiful, but the quality of the cooked breakfast was poor. On several mornings we requested eggs which were never cooked enough- poached eggs still had watery whites and the omelettes were runny, and the menu stated on toast but it was always just bread. We did send back, as did a few other couples nearby, but then just avoided eggs. It may be a cultural difference. The staff were attentive and courteous in the hotel, but the food service could improve.

Vorab: Hätte ich ein 2-Sterne Hotel gebucht, wäre ich überglücklich. Dann hätte ich allerdings auch weniger gezahlt und keine Erwartungen. Für ein 4-Sterne Hotel ist die Performance schlecht und es ist der 4 Sterne nicht wert! Reservierungsanfrage war für Halbpension aber bestätigt wurde Übernachtung mit Frühstück. Ok, da kann man noch sagen: Nicht fair aber selbst schuld. Vorherige E-Mail mit der Frage nach Kreditkartenakzeptanz wurde ignoriert! Hätte eigentlich schon eine Warnung sein müssen. Erst heißt es, dass die Zuzahlung für das Abendessen pro Tag und Person 3 € beträgt. Am nächsten Tag sind es aber schon 5 € pro Tag und Person! Was mal fast der doppelte Preis ist. Stellt sich die Frage, ob die Preise gewürfelt werden?! E-Mail-Anfrage dazu wurde nach 3 Tagen beantwortet. Zimmer: Superior Suite Balkon Meerseite… Nö! Erst einmal ist der Blick auf ein baufälliges Gebäude und wenn man sich nach rechts dreht, dann hat man Meerblick, der dann auch wirklich schön ist. Die Grundstruktur des Zimmers ist schön aber ansonsten macht alles einen sehr lieblosen Eindruck! Sehr hellhörig. Ein Stern für die Badezimmer. Die scheinen recht neu zu sein. Keine Bademäntel, grobe Handtücher… Frühstück: Eher dürftig. Drei verschiedene Käse, vier verschiedene Wurstaufschnitte. Lediglich viele Eiervariationen, trockenes Gebäck und dafür wenigstens Frischobst. Für den Kaffee ist immer Schlange stehen angesagt, da nur 2 Kaffeeautomaten zur Verfügung stehen und diese recht viel Zeit benötigen um den Cappuccino fertig zu machen. Abendessen: Buffet mit ziemlich ungewürzten Speisen. Strand: Meerzugang ist eher schwierig und das für die Liegen Miete verlangt wird, ist eine Frechheit. Ach ja, ein Pluspunkt: WLAN funktioniert und das meiste Personal ist sehr nett. Manche haben die Logik aber nicht unbedingt erfunden und scheinen den Gast mit den Ansprüchen eher als lästig zu empfinden. Fazit: Preis/Leistung stimmt überhaupt nicht überein. Lernen Sie aus den Fehlern anderer und buchen Sie ein anderes Hotel!

My husband and I stayed over at the Marko Polo for one night while visiting Korčula on our way to Dubrovnik. We are so sad we did not plan to stay longer! The exceptionally friendly and attentive staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived!The attention to detail and kindness overwhelmed us. The hotel's facilities are immaculate. There was a beautiful view from our room of the harbour and the pool. The dinner and breakfast buffet offering are extensive and delicious. That pool looked so inviting, pity we did not have more time!
