My husband and I stayed for 4 nights at 5 Hermoupolis Concept Sites, and had a wonderful experience. We highly recommend staying there! Christos, the owner, is so helpful, friendly, and nice. Just an absolutely wonderful host. When we first arrived, he gave us recommendations for restaurants and answered any other questions we had. We opted to do the breakfast for an additional charge and it was delicious--fresh bread, some homemade pastry/cake in addition to delicious Greek yogurt and homemade jams. The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious. The location is absolutely ideal--we walked from the ferry to the hotel with our rolling suitcases. It is only a 1-2 minute walk to get from the hotel to the main square in Ermoupoli. Everything was within easy walking distance from the hotel. We were on the second floor (U.S. third floor) with a balcony and a peak of the harbor. The hotel looks out on the pretty back of the Apollon Theatre, and despite being so close to the main square, it was very quiet. The room and bathroom were both modern and very clean.

Wunderschönes, kleines Design-Hotel direkt am Fährhafen. Unsere Fähre legte praktisch direkt vor dem Zimmerfenster an. Sehr stylish eingerichtetes Zimmer. Schöne Betten mit guten Matratzen. Durch die Hauptstrasse vorm Hotel ist es etwas laut, aber durch isolierte Fenster und gut funktionierende Klimaanlage kein Problem. Es ist sehr spannend, die ein- und auslaufenden Fähren vom Fenster aus zu beobachten. Das a la carte Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen, und man sitzt sehr schön auf der Terrasse. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten, Restaurants und Supermarkt sind fussläufig erreichbar. Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich, professionell und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und werden sicherlich wiederkommen.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Syros and the Diogenis Hotel was a wonderful location - literally across the street from the ferry port. Hermoupolis is a thriving town, that doesn't appear to have been discovered by Americans yet. Many good restaurant and beach options. Strongly recommend driving around the island to check out the beach towns - easily done in a day. The staff were so helpful and friendly, directing us to good restaurants and rental car services. A few suggestions - request a room with a view of the port on the 2nd floor or higher. Much better views on the upper floors. And even with the wonderful views, plan on closing the windows at night due to the noise from the port. Good news - the windows cancel out the noise and the rooms are air conditioned. Also we found the breakfast to be sub-par - would have preferred a larger selection of pastries (though the breakfast cakes were delicious), fresh juice (vs. watery bottled stuff), and better coffee. The bathrooms are small, more European size - but more than adequate. In summary, we would stay at the Diogenis again in a heartbeat because of the location and the quality service.

An amazing hidden gem in Ermoupoli! Lovely Lila and her husband were very welcoming and greeted us with traditional Greek coffee and cake upon arrival while our rooms were being prepared. Lila was very attentive during our stay, providing many recommendations to restaurants and beaches nearby! Lila kindly offered to take our luggage down to the port, which was amazing given the heat during our stay. Thank you Lila!

 We thoroughly enjoy our time at this accommodation because; 1. Great location. It is 100 metres from the port u arrive at and is right in the centre of Syros - so everything is within walking distance. 2. There is a lift so suitcases aren’t an issue. 3. The room we had ( suite 2 l think ) didn’t have a balcony but was roomy and very clean. Our male host ( sorry we didn’t get his name )was very friendly and helpful giving us advice about restaurants and where to rent a car from. The brekkie was delivered to your suite and was good. 4. We hired a manual Fiat Panda ( with AC ) for the day for only 35 euros. That was great as it enabled us to go to 3 beaches our host recommended and we swam at Agapothes ( which we were advised was the best) and drove all over the whole island. We found ‘free’ fixed umbrellas on the beach as we refuse to pay for use of lounges etc. The beach was GREAT and not busy.

Excellent! En 1 mois en Grece, ça a été notre hôtel préféré. La chambre avec petit balcon et on avait un grand balcon partagé, ule nettoyage, les lits, le staff, le rapport qualité/ prix!!! Nous sommes arrivées à 4h30 du matin et il y avait quelqu’un qui nous attendait tout sourire. Nous avons prix le petit déjeuner a l hotel esperance 1, a cote, très bon petit déjeuner. Je conseille vivement cet hotel! Je n’ai trouvé aucun point négatif. Merci beaucoup
