Finde Hotels in Whiteshill and Ruscombe

This was my second time staying at The Stroud Hotel this year. This trip was even better than the first time. The hotel now has a fantastic beer garden in the front which can be used throughout the year. All the bedrooms are very tastefully decorated with light and airy decor, plenty or wardrobe space. The rooms have great amenities including a coffee machine, water and hairdryer. In the bathroom the shower is very powerful, with fluffy towels and gorgeous smelling toiletries makes it a perfect place to unwind. The restaurant menu has plenty of things to choose from, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel and all the food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. We were lucky enough to indulge in fantastic cocktails to go with our lunch and dinner. After all the food walking into the very pretty and picturesque town was the perfect touch. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff which makes this the perfect hotel for any type trip! Cannot wait to go back!

Wir wurden mit unseren Gepäck auf den oberen Stock geholfen, als wir angekommen waren, obwohl wir recht früh für die Eincheckung waren. Die Wohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir waren erstaunt, einen Geschirrspüler zu finden. Die beiden großen Doppelbetten waren sehr komfortabel. Die Dusche war erstaunlich. Insgesamt waren wir mit der Unterkunft zufrieden. Wenn Sie diese Unterkunft bestellen wollen, sollten Sie sich darüber im Klaren sein, dass die Treppen in die Schlafzimmer für einige ein wenig schwierig sein können. Allerdings war die Hilfe mit Gepäck, das war hervorragend. Wir haben nicht das Essen probiert, wie wir aus waren (im 3-Kors-Festival) in den Abenden und auch in der Tageszeit.

We were so looking forward to staying at the hotel on our route doing The Cotswold Way. It was a bit off track but we were prepared to walk the extra couple of miles to get the experience here. It’s a grand place though the deco could do with updating. The grounds are lovely, the nearby church is impressive. Our room was ok, clean enough, hotel is a bit quirky to get around. We were dining with friends and looking forward to this. There didn’t seem much choice for non meat eaters on the menu. Took ages to get served, and then 2of the 4 starters came, a fair wait before one of the waiters spotted part of our order was missing and quickly brought the rest out. There was a long wait between starters and mains. Staff clearly seemed to be struggling that evening, it was a weekday and seemed fairly busy. I had asked whether I could have fries instead of the potato croquets as these were wrapped with bacon and I didn’t eat meat. The waiter agreed, however I subsequently noticed I had got charged for the fries separately when I had asked to have instead of. The meal was at best average. However the continental breakfast was nice and had a good selection. Staff were attentive and polite. We came away thinking the place is overrated.

LOVED our stay at The Bear of Rodborough, such a lovely weekend. We travelled for wine tasting at the local vineyard which was literally a 5 minute drive. When we got back to the hotel which was beautifully located, we were told we had been upgraded! We were SO grateful to be in the suite and it really made our anniversary weekend. The room was huge with a really comfy bed, extremely clean and well equipped. It was so cosy we didn't want to leave! The outdoor garden is lovely and perfect for summertime with the pizza van and outdoor screen and games. Incredible food, best pate I've ever had! Every member of staff we spoke with were really attentive and friendly. All in all just a beautiful, cosy hotel that we didn't want to leave and couldn't recommend more highly! We will definitely return when visiting the Cotswolds again.
