In einem Wochenende Ende Januar 2022 reservierten meine Frau und ich unsere drei erwachsenen Kinder und Enkelkinder (eine Party von insgesamt 13) im Warren Lodge Hotel in Sheppperton, ankommen am Samstagnachmittag und nach dem Frühstück am Sonntagmorgen abfahren. Es war nicht für irgendein besonderes Anlass, nur ein erschwinglicher Ort, wo wir uns alle zusammen in freundlichen Umgebungen treffen konnten, nach all den Beschränkungen über Covid. Was für eine wunderbare und glückliche Erfahrung. Das Hotel - ein schönes, getauchtes, historisches Flusshaus mit guter Qualität modernen Schlafzimmern und umfangreiche Flussterrassen - war ein erfrischendes Beispiel dafür, was Hotels sein sollten; weder überpreisig, karakterlos, Vorwärts, nicht ultramodern. Das Personal war so freundlich und zwingend wie man wünscht. Ich konnte sagen, dass nichts zu viel zu fragen war, aber sie gingen aus ihrem Weg, um zu sehen, dass wir unseren kurzen Aufenthalt genossen. Ein vier-Stunde-Dinner in einem privaten Zimmer am Samstag Abend war perfekt, aber am Sonntag Morgen war das Frühstück unglaublich! Keine gedruckte Menüliste mit begrenzten Optionen, die Sie haben können; nur 'was möchten Sie?' und alles und jede Kombination von Lebensmitteln kamen wie bestellt heraus. Was für einen Aufenthalt! Ich empfehle die Warren Lodge gründlich denen, die gute Werte schätzen, gut Service und freundliche Unterkunft.

但但Es gibt zwei Gründe, dieses Hotel zu buchen. Erstens liegt es in der Nähe des Flughafens Heathrow und eine halbe Stunde Fahrt. Zweitens gehe ich am nächsten Morgen zu einem großen Trödelmarkt neben Amoy. Das Hotel liegt in einer guten Umgebung, nur wenige Schritte vom Ufer der Themse entfernt, das Parken ist kostenlos, das Zimmer ist ruhig, das Frühstück ist gut.
