We came so my husband and son could play golf and I could enjoy the spa (and peace) 😉. The spa was great. Lovely and clean and spacious. The pool itself was also fabulous with dedicated family time for those with children. Upon arrival room wasn't ready as we were early to allow the boys to play golf. I was allowed to use the health club facilities which was great. Once our room was ready Sophie from housekeeping checked we had everything we needed, she was a pleasure to speak to. A couple of staff on reception may need to look at their customer service skills but all other staff were lovely and helpful. The food really let the place down. For tea we chose to go to the pub which is a 3 minute drive rather than eat at nothing more than a glorified cafe charging gastro prices. We had already paid for breakfast and had opted to have it to the room due to an early tee off time. At almost 45 minutes late and 3 phone calls to the reception breakfast turned up cold and inedible. The only warm item was the sausages and I mean warm not hot. It was such a let down. I thought I had book an amazing hotel and was really looking forward to it but overall I would say the Tytherington is nice but nothing special.

Es ist ein sehr historisches Schloss. Das Zimmer hinter dem Hotel sollte später gebaut werden. Die Umgebung vor dem Hotel ist sehr gut, es gibt eine große Graslandschaft, eine Hütte und einen kleinen Garten. Sie können die Sterne am Abend sehen. Die Waschbecken sind kalt und heiß getrennt. Wenn Sie nicht kalt sind, wenn Sie nicht die Hände zerkleinern, ist das Wasser im Badezimmer zu klein, das kleine Bett wird geräuscht. Es gibt Aktivitäten oder so, am Abend um 1 Uhr hat es eine sehr komplizierte Stimme von Gästen. Überraschung ist, dass Sie im Zimmer eine Flasche Rotwein geliefert haben. Und die Bergstraße, die durch die Navigation geführt wird, ist noch immer überraschend.

Ian was an amazing host and greeted us on arrival. He gave us some very useful information about the area and local restaurants, 3 of which we visited and thoroughly enjoyed. Nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was awesome and the most unusual, magical experience I have ever encountered. It was very comfortable and warm and the setting is great as we never used our car throughout our stay . Lovely local walks and felt totally refreshed after our visit . There was no end of interesting history within the cottage and it is maintained to a high standard . Very clean and comfortable with all you need for a chilled weekend.
