Wir gingen am Sonntag zum Mittagessen und bestellten eine Vielzahl von Lebensmitteln. Das Essen war ok, nicht erstaunlich. Als es geliefert wurde, fragte die Wärterin, ob wir Sauce wollten und wir sagten ja bitte und gab ihr eine Liste. Zehn oder fünfzehn Minuten später kam sie zurück und fragte, ob das Essen ok war. Ich sagte ja, aber wir hatten noch nicht die Sauce erhalten. Ich fügte hinzu, dass ich nicht mehr mein Essen brauchte, weil ich fast mein Essen fertig hatte. Stellen Sie sich meine Überraschung vor, als sie statt zu entschuldigen antwortete ”keine Sorgen” und ging weg. Als ich für das Essen bezahlt, fragte der Kartenleser mich, ob ich einen Tipp hinzufügen wollte und ich nein antwortete, weil der Service schlecht war. In keinem Augenblick machte das Personal darauf aufmerksam. dass sie bereits eine ”optionale” 10% Servicegebühr hinzugefügt hatten, Es war schön, mit unseren Freunden zu essen, aber dieser Ort hinterließ einen schlechten Geschmack in meinem Mund.

As a family group of three we arrived at 5.45pm and asked if they were still serving food. Being told yes we were shown to a table and given menus. The restaurant was not that busy. About 15 minutes later a waitress came to the table to ask if we were ready to order. On hearing that we were she said she would go to get a pad. Another 15 minutes later she had not returned. My husband went to the bar to complain and received an apology and was assured someone would come straight over. A further 10 minutes went by and still no one had come to take our order. At this stage after waiting a total of 40 minutes I went to the bar to complain again. I said I was not prepared to wait any longer and we would pay for our drinks and go. A woman behind the bar said ” I am just coming to take your order now, I have been dealing with another customer”. When I suggested she was 40minutes too late and we should have been a priority as we had been waiting so long she acted as if I were being unreasonable and certainly did not give a meaningful apology. We left and went to The Bell just down the road where the food, prices and customer service were all first class. Always vote with your feet when your custom is not appreciated.

Ich würde nicht glauben, dass etwas schief gehen würde, wie bei einer Übernachtung in vielen Hotels, in denen ich übernachtet habe. Ich liebe das Einzigartige, das das Hotel ausstrahlt, sehr akzentuiert durch die Innentreppen, Wendungen und mehrere Korridore. Es kann ziemlich schwierig sein, wenn Sie schweres Gepäck haben, besonders wenn es mehr als ein Stück ist. Daumen hoch für Jamie (die Empfangsdame im Schichtdienst), da er eine große Hilfe war. Ich würde das komplette englische Frühstück verpassen, wenn ich länger als einen Tag bleiben würde, da es praktisch in Öl getränkt ist. Es gibt eine Druckpumpe im Badezimmer, die alle 20 Minuten ertönt und das das Einschlafen erschwert, da ich einen leichten Schlaf habe. Das Zimmer, das mir zugewiesen wurde, heizt sich auf, wenn die Sonne auf die Westfassade des Hotels trifft und es ist sehr unangenehm, wenn man das Zimmer nicht verlässt. Alles in allem ein angenehmer Aufenthalt und ich hoffe, dass mein Feedback einige Anstöße zur Verbesserung gibt.
