We stayed for two evenings in May to visit Blenheim palace. We had two rooms, both superior, one on the first floor of the pub and one leading out to the front. Both rooms were beautiful; the one outside had very low ceilings and beams (ok for us as we’re not tall), with a big clawfoot bath and a walk in wardrobe. It also had the most stunning fireplace that backs on to the one in the pub. The other room had a huge 6ft bed and a very big walk in shower. Both were incredibly comfortable and we slept well both nights. We ate at the pub both evenings; the first night a young chap was managing the restaurant, he and the team did a phenomenal job. The service and the food was superb. He second evening we shared the steak (we had two between the four of us) and it was amazing. Again the food and service was fabulous. On the Saturday we were the only ones eating breakfast, the service was prompt and the food delicious. However the breakfast on the Sunday was an absolute disaster; the chap who seated us (I didn’t catch his name but he had an overseas accent) took our order and then we waited…. We waited and waited as he seated others, took their orders and their breakfasts came while we waited. The room wasn’t full, there were about 5 other tables seated (and he walked past us several times and looked at the table). When we asked him, he blamed the kitchen then went to find out what had happened. He came back and apologised and said it would be with us shortly (to be clear, two of us were only having toast!) only for us to have to chase again. An hour had gone by and we still had no breakfast (every other table had come and gone by then. After chasing a second time, he brought out one cooked breakfast (with the wrong eggs) and an omelette (the other order was for poached eggs on toast), oh and then the toast! We explained this was wrong so he blamed the kitchen again and then said he’d get them to make poached eggs but we said we’d rather not have rushed poached eggs (and to be honest it had been over an hour, we had to get off). There was an almighty row going on between him and the kitchen (I imagine the order simply hadn’t made it and then he’d guessed). We were gutted, it had been such a lovely stay with two fabulous meals and great service and it ended like that. We were told that a guest had a flat battery and they were trying to help out with that, but to me there’s no excitement for that level of service in a breakfast room where only 5 tables have taken breakfast. When I checked out he apologised it did not make eye contact. I really wanted to be writing a positive review and like I said the majority of the stay was super, to the point we’d discussed returning g. However that wouldn’t happen now, which is a shame.

We stayed with friends who had a fairly good experience however our experience was very different. We stayed in Studio 101 and it should have been called room 101 because that’s where I wanted to put it… The room felt more like a converted garage, the bedroom and bathroom had no windows, the bed was a small double and up against the wall with no side tables. The kitchenette was bigger than the bedroom which was around 5 square meters - my husband had to sleep on the outside of the bed as he was too tall to sleep in the side with the wardrobe at the end of it. The bathroom was tired and the whole room smelt mouldy. We couldn’t open the window in the kitchen because we were on the ground floor and so there was a security worry (especially as the area wasn’t the best and didn’t feel particularly safe). Luckily our friends lent us the fan from their room. The tv didn’t work and all of the kitchen cupboards also smelt mouldy - I had to wash my glass before I used it. We couldnt have a drink on the side while in bed though as previously mentioned no side tables. We would not recommend Studio 101.

Ich benutze monatlich viele verschiedene Hotels, aber das war mein erstes Besuch in diesem Hotel. Ich möchte das Team am Urlaub in Oxford gratulieren, da ich einen angenehmen Aufenthalt hatte und alles war sauber und gemütlich. Ich wurde mit einem warmen Willkommen begrüßt und obwohl das Hotel beschäftigt war, waren die Mitarbeiter sehr bequem.Die Bar-Personal waren sehr freundlich, aber ich möchte besonders Lauren erwähnen, die mir mit einem Lächeln serviert und war sehr effizient, wenn man bedenkt, wie beschäftigt die Bar war. Vielen Dank für eine angenehme Erfahrung und ich hoffe, bald zurückzukehren (14/10/22)

Im Dezember für den 1. bis 3. Juli gebucht, da wir zum Grand-Prix-Wochenende nach Silverstone fuhren und das Hollybush so ziemlich die nächstgelegene Unterkunft zur Rennstrecke war, die noch verfügbar war. Ich erhielt eine E-Mail-Bestätigung sowohl von booking.com als auch von Hollybush Direct mit der Bestätigung der Daten und der voraussichtlichen Ankunftszeit im Dezember. Als wir am Freitag, dem 1. Juli, um 14.15 Uhr auf der Tribüne in Silverstone saßen und uns das F1-Rennen ansahen, erhielt ich einen Anruf vom Hollybush, dass ein Fehler passiert sei und sie uns nicht unterbringen könnten und es uns im Grunde egal sei, dass wir nirgendwo übernachten könnten Die einzige Erklärung war ein Fehler im Buchungssystem.

A gem of a hotel. I found this hotel by accident on a google search. The website was easy to use and bonus it's pet friendly! The welcome was very good and the room was spacious and immaculately clean. Tea/coffee in the room and a bottle of water. TV is positioned so that you can comfortably watch it in bed without straining your neck. There is an iron and board in the room too, A large glass of rose wine was only £7.00. Best of all... the Indian food was outstanding as was the service from all the staff. As a customer service trainer for many years I cannot recommend this inn highly enough. I will be back!

Ich habe dieses Hotel für ein Wochenende gebucht, um mich und meinen Partner weg zu nehmen. Das Hotel war ein früher Geburtstagsbehandlung, ich habe das bei der Buchung empfohlen und sie waren fantastisch genug, um ein Banner aufzulegen und ein paar kleine Gutes für sie zu hinterlassen, was erstaunlich, sehr schöne Berührung. Das Hotelpersonal war freundlich, freundlich und freundlich. Wir würden sicherlich in Zukunft wieder auf die Buchung schauen, wenn wir wieder auf diese Weise abfallen.
