We booked slightly conerned that there might be disturbing noise from the busy road..but absolutely delighted with how quiet the Grantham Arms is! Both from inside and out! Staff welcomed us warmly and we were soon settled into our clean, well appointed, comfortable room for a four night stay. All our meals were a delight, the menu varied, catering for my dietry requirements perfectly. Even better, coeliac was properly understood and Joe even provided extra GF breakfast cereal for me! Friends who enjoy dining out where good food is available came to join us from Wetherby for one lunch, were equally impressed. The whole short break was excellent and we shall, all being well, look forward to staying again.

I recently dined and stayed at OAK TREE using the dine and stay package and was really disappointed with my experience. The service was incredibly slow; we waited far too long for our food and when it did come i got mine at a different time to my partner and when she did get hers it was stone cold , which was frustrating. When we finally asked about our order, the response was unhelpful and dismissive. To make things worse, the frumpy manager, who was quite large and rather rude, came over to address our concerns. Instead of offering an apology or assistance, she seemed annoyed and condescending and when we checked out she contuied to think she was in the right and ended up throwing are bill on the table and storming of. It was surprising to see such poor customer service from someone in a managerial position. While I had high hopes for the food, the slow service and the manager’s attitude overshadowed everything. It’s a shame because I wanted to enjoy my meal, but I left feeling frustrated and unwelcome. I won't be returning, and I hope they can improve their service and management approach in the future. can i say the lady who did the breakfast on her own is amazing the breakfast was 10/10 such a shame the rest of the experience.

We stayed here for 2 nights recently, as we were attending Ripon Races. We were 2 couples - 1 of whom stayed in 1 of the garden lodges and 1 of whom stayed in 1 of the classic doubles. The garden lodge room was a lovely size, opening out onto a verandah within the garden/grounds, a very peaceful location. It was a lovely and comfortable room. The classic double room, whilst smaller, was well-appointed and had everything we needed. The breakfast had plenty of choice and was really tasty. The staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, a credit to the hotel. Onsite parking was free of charge for guests. Next time we're coming for Ripon Races we will definitely stay here, it was a lovely hotel and we're very glad we booked to stay here!

Can’t fault this place. Free parking and 5 minutes walk to the market square. Requested a low floor and gave us a ground floor room. We were overlooking the garden which is lovely (room 10). Room was comfortable, modern with large walk in shower and a choice of conventional or rainfall shower. Had £30 each to spend on food which is harder than you may think. (Winter offer). We split it over tea time and supper. Then breakfast in the morning was also included so we certainly ate well. Got to say that every staff member we met was polite, friendly and smiley. They are a credit to the place. After check out we sat outside in the sun and it was lovely, amazing considering it was November 16th. Can’t wait to return next year on a warm sunny day and sip a pint outdoors.
