A beautiful family run hotel in a stunning location. The staff were extremely helpful and the room was delightful. We stayed in the Regency room which was on the ground floor and overlooked the restaurant just across the road. I was a little disappointed that there was no view of the river as I had booked a 'superior' double, but the four poster bed and tea making facilities made up for it! The room was clean and spacious and the bed very comfortable with more pillows in the wardrobe if needed, Good air conditioning and no noise from the road if you keep the windows closed. Parking is a little problematic if you arrive in the middle of the day when the restaurants across the road are serving lunch. We had to walk quite a way with our luggage. The staff are always on hand first thing in the morning, whilst breakfast is being served, and then again for a couple of hours in the afternoon when they are checking in new guests which means there are a lot of hours when the front door is locked (but you do have a key). There is no outside seating at all but we found lots of nice benches alongside the river when we needed some evening air. The main downside of this hotel: we would have liked a fridge in the room and there was very little choice at breakfast.

The rooms overlooking the vineyard and swimming pool as shown on the website are a cost upgrade but worth it. Rooms are small but comfortable. Easy walk up the hill into town, which has some nice coffee shops and of course, lots of wine domains. Parking is public parking opposite the hotel and free. The bar only serves pre-prepared wine pairing food, hummous, terrine etc. so dine at a nearby restaurant first. Staff are not very attentive so may have to wait a while.
