This hotel was a huge disappointment. For the price we paid, I would definitely go somewhere else. I booked a room for myself and two kids (16 and 11) on a booking platform that described the room as suitable for three people, with a maximum of two adults. I assumed it would be a double or twin room with an extra bed for a child. However, when we arrived to check-in in the evening, they told us they had no record of three guests, only two adults, and that we could not stay in the room we had selected. They gave us a bigger apartment and asked me to come to the front desk the next morning to resolve the situation. I must say that the gentleman at the front desk during the evening shift was sincerely apologetic and showed empathy. However, the front desk man in the morning was a completely different story. He was rude and arrogant, and I've never experienced such poor hospitality. He showed no acknowledgement of their incorrect advertisement. They claimed that the room we selected was only suitable for two adults, with a maximum of one two-year-old child. I took the time to search through several different platforms where this ”family-friendly” hotel was listed, and on all of them, it stated that children up to the age of 13 were free of charge. However, in our case, we were asked to pay extra for our 11-year-old, which amounted to a 50% increase in the original price. With poor English skills, the only argument they had was several times ”It's not my problem. You pay now or leave!” - without getting back any money for the rest of the nights, of course. In the end, we paid the price and were reimbursed by the booking platform afterward, although I'm quite certain it was the hotel's fault. Mistakes do happen, but the rudeness and poor attitude of the staff were unacceptable. I don't see the hotel as family-friendly, friendly, or even polite at all. As for the hotel itself, the amenities were quite old, as evidenced by the condition of the rooms, restaurant, and outdoors. The pool was literally colder than the ocean, and nobody could stay in it for more than five minutes. For the original price, I would say it's about average, but after the 50% increase we paid, the hotel is way below average, and I would rather find a better hotel in a better location. To top it off, when we were leaving breakfast, one lady working in the restaurant got hysterical about our 11-year-old taking an APPLE from the breakfast buffet - how silly and rude reaction, especially to a kid.

The hotel was clean and tidy. Rooms are spacious with a separate bedroom. Kitchen has few utensils and pans and kettles so basic foods can be cooked. Balconies have two chairs and a table. Be aware that the balcony floor is very slippery when wet. Building D next to the road can be a bit noisy at times, trash truck beeping early in the morning etc. Hotel has a minimarket with mostly sandwiches, chocolate bars, beer and wine. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, lots of fruit, bread and cereal but not much meat. Same goes with the dinner. Don't trust Google maps, there's no easy route to Puerto de la Cruz centrum. The area surrounding the hotel is steep hills to every direction. Sidewalks are narrow if they exist at all. Nearest grocery stores are closer to 10 minute walk away. Few restaurants are nearby. There is one hotel next to this one but otherwise the neighbourhood is fully inhabited by locals. We enjoyed our stay a lot though we found out that the only viable way to travel between the hotel and Puerto de la Cruz was taxi.

Es war wunderbar, wieder einmal ! Ich war schon zweimal dort, damals hieß es noch „Hotel Maritim Teneriffa“, im November 2019 und November 2021 (also vor und nach „Corona“). Das Hotel, die Belegschaft (zum Glück !) und das Essen sind im Wesentlichen gleich gut bis hervorragend geblieben. Es zeugen nur der Name „Maritim“ (ganz groß auf der Hausfassade) und einige Maritim-Logos (vor allem im und am Hauptpool) vom alten Betreiber, sind wohl nur mit großen Hindernissen bzw. mit Schließung von Einrichtungen zu entfernen. Das Wichtigste ist aber, dass die gute Seele und die warme Atmosphäre des Hotels erhalten geblieben sind – habe mich sofort wieder, wie im Urlaub zu Hause gefühlt. Alle Angestellten (sei es an der Rezeption, beim Service-Personal der Restaurants, dem Zimmer-Service und in der Küche) sind alle wahre Sprachwunder. Es wird fließend gewechselt von Spanisch zu Deutsch oder Englisch, Französisch etc. Jede/Jeder waren freundlichst bestrebt meine Wünsche zu erfüllen oder auch mal ungefragt meine Bedenken zu erkennen und abzustellen. Das Zimmer war wieder einmal gut (Mobiliar ist etwas älter) und sauber. Wer keine supergroßen Ansprüche stellt, sollte zufrieden sein. Heimelig mit der großartigen Aussicht war es allemal. Alle Zimmer sind jeweils möglich mit Meerblick (auf den Atlantik mit der westlichen Nordküste von Teneriffa – abends und nachts besonders schön) oder auf das Orotava-Tal (mit Blick auf den großen Hotelgarten, die Pools mit den Sonnenliegen, die steil ansteigende Tigaiga-Bergkette und dem mächtigen Teide  3715 m hoch). TIPP: Wer den unbegrenzten Blick auf das Wasser liebt, das stetige Meeresrauschen genießt (kann allerdings in der Nebensaison zuweilen sehr laut sein – der Atlantik ist ein mächtiger Wellen- und Wettertreiber, wie ich in diesem Jahr erfahren habe…)  nimmt den Meerblick ! Wer mehr Ruhe genießen möchte und/oder das Geschehen im/am Hotel und die Entwicklungen ( z.B. tolle Wetterphänomene an der Bergkette) im Orotava-Tal von oben beobachten will  nimmt den Berg-Blick ! Frühstück und Abendessen gibt es mit einem tollen Blick auf die felsige Küste, auf das quirlige Treiben von Puerto de la Cruz (der nahe Loro-Park ist mit seinen Zelt-Bedachungen zu sehen) oder offen auf der Terrasse (dort vier Zweier-Tische) mit Mond- oder Sonnenschein je nach Tages- bzw. Jahreszeit und Wetter. Das Essen selbst ist in wechselnder Buffetform gut bis sehr gut mit kanarisch-spanischer und angepasster deutsch-internationaler Küche, wobei ich persönlich als großer Suppenfan die kanarische Hühnersuppe sehr lecker fand (zweimal genossen !). Zum Frühstück wird zusätzlich frisches Omelett mit Wunsch-Zutaten und zum Abendessen immer etwas Wechselndes (z.B. Entrecôte, Lachsfilet, Riesengarnelen, Schweinekotelette oder -lende, Mies- oder Herzmuscheln, vegetarische oder traditionelle Paella etc.) live zubereitet. Es ist immer eine Köchin oder ein Koch anwesend, welche/r Fragen beantwortet oder Zusatzwünsche berücksichtigt. Ein Highlight zum Früh

Staff are amazing. The pool area is clean, rooms cleaned daily however i personally dont know how this hotel is a 4 star 3 at best that is being generous. Beds are the most uncomfortable beds ive ever stayed in, rooms are extremely small, balconies are in adequate can just say squeeze on them. The hotel doesnt get the sun all day which is a shame especially the bottom of the pool however the solarium does get a few extra hours. This hotel caters to a certain nationality which are so rude and personally put me off and it was like a care home majority of the guests are 60 and over. First and last visit to this part of Tenerife sadly i would 100% not recommend and will be sticking with the South. Location of the hotel is good theres a nice walk to town, beach is pretty close and Loro Park is within walking distance but still isnt enough to make me return. Food isnt the best either, freezing cold and not a lot of variety. If you like fish you will always have something to eat not a lot of meat served up, breakfast is the same everyday. Some meals were nice but found breakfast and dinner were the worst.

I have been to Puerto many times and always try new hotels hoping to find one that I love to keep returning too. Well I booked a standard room but as said in other peoples reviews they are a bit dated so I paid a little more and upgraded to a superior Teide view room and wasn't disappointed! Housekeeping worked tirelessly and on reception Soriah was very friendly and always willing to help! Once fully refurbished this will be a top hotel . Whilst there they was improvements being done to the roof terrace and that was looking very impressive.Location Is a big plus too. This is a very good hotel. Keep up the good work. I am returning to Puerto in October and have booked a superior Teide view room again!

Das Hotel liegt auf einem Berg. Da keinerlei Geschäfte oder Bars direkt am Hotel sind benötigt man ein Fortbewegungsmittel. Der Parkplatz ist deswegen sehr voll, die Suche dauert. Das Hotel selber ist in die Jahre gekommen. Ein echtes 4 Sterne Gefühl stellt sich erst ab der Premium Kategorie ein. Wir haben vor Ort ein Upgrade bezahlt um dem Standard Räumen zu entfliehen. Die Lage selber ist gut für Erkundungen jeglicher Art, mit dem Auto geht alles in recht kurzer Zeit. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit, und spricht verschiedene Sprachen. Bei Halbpension war das Essen in Büffetform, die Auswahl ist entsprechend der Hotelkategorie.

Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und geräumig. Man hat die Wahl zwischen Meeres- oder Poolblick. Meerblick ist schön, das Hotel liegt aber so, dass meist keine Sonne zu sehen ist (Norden!). Wer auf Meerblick verzichten kann, sollte Poolblick mit Sonne wählen. Im Restaurant findet man sehr emsiges und aufmersames Personal. Das Speisenangebot ist groß. Das Highlight aus meiner Sicht sind die ständig nachgebackenen also warmen Brötchen am Morgen. Weniger gefallen haben mir die wenig oder nicht gewürzten Gemüsesorten, Salate und Saucen. Es gibt wohl viele Fertigprodukte um den Preis halten zu können. Wir haben einige Dauergäste kennen gelernt, die zum Teil schon mehr als zwanzig Mal im Hotel waren, die von Verbesserungen beim Fleischeinkauf erzählt haben. In manch anderem Hotel waren sie aber noch weniger zufrieden. Der vom Hotel kostenlos angebotene Busshuttle wahlweise zum Omnibusbahnhof (Estacion) oder zum Einkaufszentrum (Commercio Central Martianez) sind sehr zu loben. Das Hotel bietet eine kostenlose Nutzung der Tiefgarage an und in der nahen Umgebung war fast immer ein Parkplatz zu finden. Der Strassenverkehr ist jedoch von der Dichte her großstadtmäßig. Wir haben deshalb auf einen Leihwagen verzichtet und sind mit dem ÖPNV gefahren, das Hotel ist zu Fuß in 15 Minuten (bergab) vom ZOB entfernt. Der deutschsprachige örtliche Rundfunksender radioeuropa.fm ist im TV-Gerät im Hotelzimmer leider nicht eingespeichert. Wer einmal außerhalb des Hotel Puerto Palace einen Drink nehmen möchte, ist in der nahegelegenen Bar ”Alberto” gut aufgehoben bei atemberaubenden Blick über die Stadt in Richtung Meer. Die An- oder Abreise zwischen Hotel und Airport Teneriffa-Süd ist lang, in unserem Fall über 90 Minuten Fahrt und bei der Hinreise fährt er auch nicht sofort los, wenn man den Bus gefunden hat. Das Hotel bietet einen eigenen Flughafen-Transfer an. Zum Schluß einen herzlichen Gruß an Hoteldirektor Mike Menzhausen in der Hoffnung, keine ”Standardantwort” sondern eine individuelle zu bekommen.
