This hotel is truly nice. The driver and I had a difficult time seeing where the hotel entrance was. We had to guess. Very engaging lobby, with a check in that went very smooth. There are plenty of amenities at this hotel. Good attached restaurant. The room was very large, very nice, and very comfortable. Very large bathroom, and nice shower. However. The glaring problem here are the thin walls. Every other guest I spoke to had the same complaint. I could annoyingly hear the people walking around above my room. The housekeeping staff could be heard cleaning several rooms away. The hotel guests could be heard walking around the halls and in their rooms. A small amount of noise is to be expected at hotels, but this is just poor design and cheap building. There was also a distinct smell of vomit throughout the hotel. I am not certain if this was the result of the farm land outside, or intoxicated guests. Probably both. If you are here to gamble and drink, you may not notice any of my issues. If you are hear to sleep and work the next day, you may share my concerns.

Alle Holiday Inns, die ich geblieben habe, waren ausgezeichnet, aber diese ist über den Rest. Die Zimmer und Einrichtungen waren standardmäßig und das Frühstück war wie alle anderen Holiday Inn Express. Aber was diese über den Rest gesetzt war das Personal. Meine Frau und ich waren unvertraut mit der Gegend. Die Mitarbeiter des Büros von Julian und Yashman haben uns eine unglaubliche Aufgabe gemacht, uns über lokale Orte zu essen und zu besuchen zu erzählen. Sie gab uns genaue Anweisungen zu den Bussen und Zugsystemen und wie man die Orte von Vancouver besuchen wollte, die wir sehen wollten. Sie gingen weit über ihre normalen Pflichten hinaus, um unseren Besuch zu einem Erfolg zu machen. Julian und Yashman gaben sich vorbildlich auf die Details und den hervorragenden Kundenservice.

Meine Bewertung des Queens Hotels in Vancouver (New Westminster) fällt kurz und knapp aus: das Hotel ist unscheinbar, maximal durchschnittlich und für mein Empfinden zu teuer. Bei unserem Besuch im September war es sauber und ruhig. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und wir haben in dem recht kleinen Standard-Zimmer gut geschlafen. Wer nichts Besonderes erwartet, wird dort nicht enttäuscht werden. 210,00 Dollar für eine Nacht von Sonntag auf Montag außerhalb der Saison sind in dieser Lage allerdings ein stolzer Preis. Mir ist schleierhaft, warum es so viele sehr gute Bewertungen hat. Wir sind am Sonntagnachmittag auf dem Flughafen in Vancouver gelandet und hatten ab Montag ein Wohnmobil bei CanaDream gemietet. Deren Station liegt in der Distriktgemeinde Delta, die südlich von Vancouver liegt in der Nähe zum Fährhafen Tsawassen. Wer nach Vancouver Island möchte, kann sich von dort also schnell auf den Weg machen. Ich hatte nach einem Hotel in der Nähe der Vermietstation gesucht und war dabei auf das Queens Hotel gestoßen. Meine Überlegung war, dass wir uns von dort am nächsten Morgen zügig zur Abholung des Wohnmobils auf den Weg machen könnten. Letztlich ist das Hotel aber dennoch so weit von CanaDream entfernt, dass wir auch jedes andere Hotel auf dem Weg hätten nehmen können. Beim nächsten Mal würde ich jedenfalls nach einem günstigeren oder besseren Hotel irgendwo zwischen Flughafen und CanaDream suchen. Das größte Manko ist die Lage des Queens Hotels in der dortigen Wohngegend. Es gibt ein paar kleinere Geschäfte in der Straße und eine kleine Mall ist fußläufig erreichbar, aber Restaurants für Abendessen und/oder Frühstück sind in der Nähe kaum zu finden. Wenn man kein Auto hat, dann ist man dort ziemlich verloren. Die „Take the cake“ Bakery, die sich neben dem Hotel befindet, hat montags geschlossen, so dass wir auch dort nicht fündig wurden. Der Kaffee an der minimal ausgerüsteten Frühstücksbar im Hotel war einer der schlechtesten, die ich in letzter Zeit getrunken habe. Zusammengefasst gibt es wohl kaum einen triftigen Grund, ausgerechnet dort zu übernachten. Für das Hotel selbst kann ich angesichts des durchaus hohen Preises höchstens drei Punkte vergeben. Wenn in einer anderen Rezension zu lesen ist, dass Restaurants in der Nähe seien, dann stimmt das nur für Autofahrer. „The Quay“, ein wohl recht attraktives Ziel mit einigen Restaurants an der Waterfront von New Westminster, liegt ca. 5 Km entfernt - zu Fuß also eine Stunde, mit dem Bus eine halbe.

Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig, sehr komfortabel, das Zimmer ist sehr sauber und der Hall kann auch sitzen, um die Gemeinschaftslandschaft draußen zu sehen und zu beenden, wie es sich im Leben in Vancouver fühlt. Sehr komfortabel, sehr langsam, und die Küche hat eine Menge Kaffeeschalen, die verwendet werden können. Wenn ich wiederkommen will, muss ich sicher wieder in dieses Haus ［ Ruhehaus ］ sehr großartig sein.

Der Besitzer ist sehr gut, versuchen Sie, alle Anforderungen zu erfüllen. Das Bett ist sehr groß, es gibt kein Problem mit zwei oder drei Schlafen, ein Mensch schläft sehr komfortabel Die Erfahrung ist sehr gut. Das nächste Mal wird es sicher wieder bleiben.

About a 20 minute drive from the airport and close to the bus station. The owner is kind, the room was clean and everything you needed was available. The owner was also always available and was able to give recommendations for things to do in Vancouver. The only improvement I would give is more options for breakfast but the main area was comfortable. Overall, great experience with zero issues.

Thank you for the opportunity to describe my Inn at the Quay experience. I was booked for a day procedure at Royal Columbian Hospital at 6:00AM on Saturday May 20. Because I was travelling from out of town and had to be driven home (as a requirement of the procedure) I elected to travel by train to Vancouver and then New Westminster on the day before, Friday. On Tuesday May 16 I booked a room at your hotel for the night of the night of Friday May 19 for $389.00 ex-taxes. My plan was to take a cab to the Hospital and then my daughter was then going to drive to town to pick me up and drive me home after the procedure on Saturday. After travelling to New Westminster I had time to kill because I called the Inn at the Quay to see if I could get an early check in but was told that you were very busy and that was not possible. The hospital recommends attending with only your care card for security reasons. For this reason I had my BC Care Card and the credit card I used to book the room in my cellular phone case. During my wanders I lost my phone. Fortunately I had a significant amount of cash so I got a cab immediately and attended at your hotel. I explained my situation to the clerk on the desk and she said that she could not check me in without the credit card I used to book the room. I asked her if you would charge that card with the room price if I had not shown up and she agreed that that was the case. When I asked if she could just charge the card and let me stay she said that the situation was different and was against your policy. I questioned her further and she summoned a person form the back office who agreed that the situation was completely different and actually said “Sorry, we can’t help you.” When I suggested cancelling the credit card transaction and paying in cash that suggestion was also turned down. Reason was lost on these two minions that are trained to be slavishly obedient to your rules and policies. I am sure that if you question these two they will agree that I was polite and courteous throughout our encounter. After several attempts at circumventing their indifference I felt that I should leave before I started to get mad. As a competent, attentive and businesslike hotelier I am sure you are aware of the saturation in your market on any given day. If you harken back to May 19 you will recall that all of the other hotels in New Westminster and as far as Port Coquitlam were completely booked. No matter, I was able to avail myself of a comfortable chair in the admitting lobby of the Royal Columbian Hospital from 4:00PM on Friday until 6:00AM the following morning. Except of course when I had to leave the admitting lobby while the janitors polished the floors. Because the Emergency Room lobby was full I was able to meet some of the interesting local street residents that were outside at 2:30AM. Die Hotels waren sehr gut, aber es war nicht so viel zu schwierig für das Personal. Sie waren froh, uns ein Zimmer zu zeigen, als wir am Motel einen Tag oder so vor dem Plan zu bleiben. Sie haben uns alles geliefert, was wir gefragt haben - von zusätzlichen Ketten bis zu einer elektrischen Kette und haben uns sogar einen späten Auscheck gegeben. Perfekt ... und großartig für Geld. Nicht die sauberste Lage in British Columbia, sondern direkt auf einer Busroute, die es einfach machte, wohin wir gefahren.
