Wir haben den Ort geliebt, obwohl wir einen Aufenthaltsschein benutzten und während der Woche blieben wir es vernünftig bezahlt. Das Personal, das wir behandelt haben, war sehr angenehm und hilfreich. Die Unterkunft war sauber, gemütlich und komfortabel. Sehr schöne Küchenbereich und Holzfeuer. Die Stabs befinden sich in einem ruhigen Bereich des Parks, der Sie fühlte, als wären Sie von allen entfernt. Das Bett war groß und komfortabel. Wir genossen unseren Aufenthalt und würden empfehlen

Sehr gute Lage. Es ist nur 3 Fahrminuten vom Fährterminal Kangaroo Island entfernt. Wir kamen um 6 Uhr abends an. Es stellte sich heraus, dass es sich bei dem Schild um ein separates Chalet mit zwei Schlafzimmern handelte. Das Zimmer war sehr zufriedenstellend. Die Küchenutensilien waren alle komplett. Sehr gutes One-Stop-Reiseerlebnis.

I arrived at 4.30pm to find the place all locked up. There was a note stuck on the window with a contact number to call to get the duty manager, and another note pointing ”out of hours” arrivals to a security box. There was no answer on the number. Fortunately another couple turned up, and they had been sent a code for the box, to get their key. |The lady was rightly dubious but opened the box to get their key and then took my name, and gave me my key, so fair play to her for being security continuous. I did not receive any correspondence from the hotel with my code, or even any contact prior to my arrival to find out my ETA. The whole complex was deserted, which for mid december, I do not understand. My room was probably the furthest away from everything, and for the whole night I was there, there was noone else in my block. I went to the pool, and sat in the spa for the 5 minutes that it is allowed to run for - there is a note saying it must not be run again for another 30 minutes (I think) after it has done its 5 minutes. Eventually another couple came along and sat in the spa, so it got swtiched on too early I would guess... Forgive my sarcasm here, but that makes no logical sence, One thing I forgot to mention was that due to me arriving ”out of hours”, although I cannot understand how 4.20 is out of hours at a big hotel and golf complex, there was NO food anywhere, I had to leave, and drive 20 minutes back to the previous town. The internet was sketchy, so I hate to think what it would be like if there was more than 3 people staying at the hotel. My tv didn't work, I discovered that the aerial was not plugged in, and then I had to manually retune it to get it to work. I left very early the next morning to get a ferry to KI, and there were no more cars in the carpark than then I had arrived (i.e none). The shower water ran brown for a few minutes, so I guess that no one had been in my room for a while. This was probably the weirdest hotel stay that I have had. The place was quite literally deserted.

Don't be fooled by the photographs on this hotel's website - it's probably best rated as a 2-star. The good: close to the ferry terminal. Rooms are spacious with tea / coffee making facilities and toaster. All rooms overlook the sea with a balcony. Free, self-operated laundry facility on-site. Parking available on-site. Check-in efficient and friendly - staff helped with luggage. The poor: Penneshaw is at one end of Kangaroo Island which means a long drive to get anywhere else. No lift to rooms on first floor. Reception is not manned 24-hrs. Thus a fire alarm at 5am went unanswered until a staff member arrived from elsewhere. Breakfast choice is limited for the inclusive breakfast (if you choose B&B) - you can only have one of tea or coffee or an orange juice. No buffet; order your choice from the kitchen bar. Gluten-free bread is available. The hotel has a restaurant - again order from the kitchen bar, Note that one day a week the only food available is pizza. This was problematic for a gluten-free diet. After some difficult discussion the chef offered to prepare a risotto which was actually very tasty.

Freundliches Personal. Sehr schönes Glampenhaus, wirklich geräumig und komfortabel Bett. Sehr schöne Lage. Küche hat jedoch nur Mikrowelle, Kühlschrank, Toaster und Kessel. Außen BBQ. Die Dusche war kalt, aber ich hatte erst spät am Abend geduschen, so dass es möglicherweise heiß gewesen wäre am Morgen.
